My BF and me are debating on what Universal tickets to buy :
2yr Prefered Annual Pass or 2 park Power Pass

After emailing universal 3 times (not calling America again after 2hrs+ to Disney to make ADRs :rolleyes1 ) and not getting a response I need advice:confused3

I understand the 2yr one thats self explanatory, but the Power Pass I need help.

How does it work? Does it run Jan to Dec or is it 365 days? If I buy it for use in Sept/Oct this year, will it expire in December or next September?:scared:

Please Please Please Help!!!:scared1:

The power pass runs for 1 year from activation - not from date of purchase :thumbsup2

The power pass has blackout dates, so just double check to make sure that the blackout dates don't interrupt your vacation.

Also, remember that the powerpass does not give you any of the discounts. You don't get the APH rates at the hotels, nor will you get any of the gift shop or dining discounts. Depending on how long you are staying, these can really add up.

If you want the discounts and the blackout dates don't affect your vacation, you can always buy 1 preferred for the discounts and 1 powerpass.

Thanks for the replies.

Its working out at a £70 difference between then so £35 p/p for an extra yr.
Can't complain!! Prefered wins!

*cough* copycat *cough* ;)

Just kiddin'. Nice to see you join the ranks of the AP holders. Plus, now that you are posting, I won't have to do a trip report by myself.

I just bought mine today. It's Preferred. It's really good for me since I'm gonna be going A LOT if I can.
I spent a little over $200 on it but it's worth it.

My take is that the only possible justification for buying the Power Pass is if you have some way around parking every time you visit. Parking isn't included and it won't take long before that $11 a day parking cost eats up the price difference in the passes.

I have a lengthy discussion of the various ticket options in my book. You can read the whole thing here:

Figured for the price the preferred was worth it compared to the Flexiticket. Just means that we will have to do a stop there to use it over the next 2 yrs :rolleyes1

Lol a joint TR... could be interesting.
Thinking about Belle or Tink for MNNSHP if we decide to go although Paul has said he is not doing Beast or Peter Pan. :confused3 Oh Well.
I am in work and very bored............:surfweb:
