Ok, this is Kadence asking. Does Claire tap dance or does she do Ballet to? What song did she dance to? Did she get flowers? I got flowers for my recitals.

LOL, 4 months, I say stretch this out!:lmao:

I'd like to know the answers to Kadence's questions as well. :rotfl: I think the third picture down is my favorite.

She takes tap....and looks at those shoes!!!!....$60 we had to spend about a month ago because she grew out of her other ones...and most likely will grow out of these before next year.....:rolleyes1 She does this every year! :headache:

She did get flowers. Lots of them and they are on our kitchen counter in a vase....though some are starting to die now.

She danced to a song called Let's Dance...not the David Bowie version(or Myley Cirus either). This one is a bit latin sounding. I don't know who sings it or I would look for it on youtube.

I'll have more of her actual recital later! :thumbsup2

Cute dance pics! You can tell who the divas are in the group!

Why not start Claire out with some of the smaller coasters at CP? There are several that aren't as big as EE, you could work her up to them this summer!:thumbsup2

Love the dance photos! I danced for 15 years. I miss it so much. I used to have the same problem as Claire growing out of my shoes. My jazz shoes used to get holes right before the recital. Black Electric tape and spray paint were my best friends! We spray painted a pair of tan tap shoes black one year because our dance teacher decided at the LAST minute that we should have black shoes to go with our costume! Yeah not spending $90 on shoes I will only wear once! I squeezed into an old pair for the 2 minutes I needed them lol. My senior year old high school I had to do a tap solo.

Caught up again! :goodvibes

Claire looks so cute in all her new outfits! She will be STYLIN'! And she always is...I'm so thankful I have a boy or my wallet would be crying! :rotfl:

I'm so sorry to hear about the fire!!! What an awful mess!!! Keep us posted on how everything pans out with insurance. How stressful.

I forgot you were going to AoA too on this trip! Yay! I can't wait to see it!

I don't think we wil lmake it to Cedar Point this summer. I'm not gonna push for it anyways. I know we have several things going on...and I am betting Skip won't have time to get away....If he does...I would really like to go down to the Ohio caverns for a day. We talked ofdoing this for 2 years now, but so far we haven't made it.

I really tried to get Claire to just keep wearing those dang shoes till the recital....but there was a lot of whining involved and since we still had a month of class left...I just bought them. But literally the last 2 previous years...we have bought them about 2 weeks prior to the recital. I wish she would suck it up...but a little kid won't...and actually in all fairness, the one year we couldn't even wedge the dang shoe on...and that year she tookd a mixed class with some ballet and tumbling too and she grew out of her ballet shoes and just went barefoot the last few weeks because I knew she was taking only tap the next year and I wasn't about to buy 2 new pairs of shoes. :crazy2:

Luckily over the summer she wears mostly flip flops...but I noticed about 4 or 5 pairs of shoes she has do not fit right now either...and I got her 2 cute pair of crock last winter on clearance...and they are too big still...go figure.

Caught up again! :goodvibes

It was such a mess. It's just a waiting game now.

Claire is loving all her new outfits. She is not allowed to grow though..with my luck a few weeks prior she wil lgrow 2 inches. :upsidedow
Yep..AoA for 3 nights! Claire is most excited about this one....thoguh she doesn't know about Animal Kingdom.....and I don't think I accidently told her yet. :joker:

Do they have a shoe swap at her dance school? It could be a good way to save some money on the shoes. It is so tough when they are going through these insane growth spurts like Claire is. How much has she grown over the last year?

I think we get a $5 or $10 credit to trade in our old shoes. not much...but it helps.
I'm not sure how much she has grown, but she seems to be on a spurt for 3 years plus...on going. She seriously needs to slow down.

I've been doing some thinking.....I shouldn't be reading others TRs because it gives me ideas.

I am thinking of "possibly" adding the Keys to the Kingdom tour. I have wanted to take this for a couple of years now, but I cannot do it with Claire, because she has to be 16. I had the thought pop in my head today that I could do it while Mom and Dad are there and they could keep her with them till I got done. I wish it was cheaper though...thats the downfall. and the timing. The day I would want to do it would be the day she does the Wonderland Tea party, so that may conflict. I would have to rely on someone else to get her there and my family is not real savvy with the bus system.
I also have some possible fall plans, which means that I won't want to spend the extra money all at Disney...so I have to wait and see how that pans out.

The other option would be the Marcelene to Magic Kingdom tour, which is less money and less time. I'll have to wait a bit and see how it all works out for me.

:rotfl2: Ideas are catchy! I would love to do a tour like that, but I can see why you would be hesitant.

Fall Plans!! :scratchin I seen something on FB, but I won't say a thing.

If I get time tomorrow, ( family party) I'll email you a couple questions I have about our trip.

Gosh, now you have me wondering what I posted there? LOL I'm not sure if I posted what my fall plans "might" be on facebook.....mostly because Skip told me not to say anything till I knew for sure anyways. LOL And I don't want to jinx it. It's a big if right now.
That Nov. group moves fast though, so I post stuff. and then have to rethink what I said. LOL

I'll be around... I'm about to head to bed now, but you can email me now if you want and I'll write back tomorrow.

If you want my opinion (since I have been on both tours ;)) I would really suggest you do the Keys to the Kingdom Tour! Yes, it is more expensive, AND longer AND it feeds you (CHH).
But if you really want to look behind the scenes that's by far the better tour. We did Marceline to MK because it was new and one we had not done before and while it was nice it lacked that WOW factor.
What you might consider (even though that is even more expensive) is the Wild Africa Tour - AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!
If you need more first hand info, let me know!

I think this might be the perfect opportunity for you to do a tour like that. It's not like you can go into the tea party with her anyway.... and photopass will take a bunch of photos for you. And when else would you get this chance?

I've been paying more attention lately to posts about the tours. I can totally see Katie and I doing the Key to the Kingdom tour when she turns 16.

I do go back and forth though on whether it would spoil any of the magic for us. Fortunately I have some time to think about it!

And fingers are crossed on for your fall plans!

We did the Christmas party in 2007&2008, and the Halloween party in 2009&2010. I think the Halloween party gives you the most for your money. It just seems like there is more going on. I'm glad we did the Christmas ones but if I had to choose just one I would pick Halloween. I'm sure you'll have a great time though and that it will be different from when I went because of New Fantasyland. Hmmm.... now that I think of it maybe I would do it again to experience that:laughing:

Claire looks so cute doing her routine. I hear you about the shoes. River plays so hard in his sneakers I feel like I'm buying a new pair every 2 months. I bought the last pair 1 month before out trip and threatened him if he got a hole in them he would not go anywhere this summer. Then I forgot to bring them with us and had to buy $35.00 crocs while we were there. Oh well at least they are Disney shoes.

I think I would be tempted to take the Keys to the Kingdom Tour if I knew there was some one to take care of River.

How long do we have to wait to hear about the fall plans? I'm not good at waiting!

I would love to do it, but I'll have to wait and see for now. I might till Oct to decide...I know thats last minute, but I really need to see how everything plays out before I spend any more money. I sure would love to though.

It would be so neat to do. One of those things on my dream for the future list.

I think I remember reading one of your TR's on another board about one of your Halloween parties and it looked so fun.

I really don't know how soon I'll know. It's hard to explaing, but it has nothing to do with Skip...I just have to wait for a few things to work out first and then we'll see how it plays out. I bet I won't know for another month or so...it's killing me too. LOL

Ooh that's a tough decision you have to make. Spend the money to do the tour or hang on to the money so you can do something else in the Fall. I have always said that I want to do one of the backstage tours but I can't make myself take time away from the family to do it. (and the cost is a lot too) However, Hunter will be turning 16 on our next trip so I may just look into doing one of the tours as his birthday present.

I should just stop reading other peoples things so I don't get anymore ideas. :lmao: I do know that I need to take it easy for Claire since this will be a really long trip for her...and me. So for now it's on the back burner......and who knows how many more ideas I come up with. ;)

Boy I am having internet issues. I'm pretty sure it must be my connection. many pages take forever to load...and not just here, but on Cruise critic, pasporters and facebook too. my main computer makes it slow, but they do load...though sometimes I need to refresh 3 or 5 times to get the pictures to show up, but my laptop will spin and think for an hour sometimes. So it has to be my internet since both computers are doing this right?

Another thought, and not sure if it would make a difference, but I notice all my lights are dim today. So maybe the power is not going through correctly. Also blew out another lightbulb (this happens all the time, especially in the basement.....like weekly) and the dang thing twisted off inside, so now I'm gonna have to kill the breaker to use a pliers to unscrew it. So on top of being darker than normal in my basement with dim lights, I have lightbubls out too. (actually I have nother one out as well, but not near the computer...and that too I have found broke and needs to be pliered out. :sad2:)

I thought I would share a few pictures of Claires actual dance recital.

Sounds like you've got a lot of light problems. I hope you get them all fixed soon. I hate it when the light bulbs break when they are still in the fixtures its such a pain.

Claire looks adorable in her dance outfit! Did she have a good time?
