:woohoo: you DID go with Yachtsman! :thumbsup2
Be sure to try their rolls - they are soooooo good! :goodvibes

I LOVE Claire's new outfits - all of them!
And about your aunt - I would so do the same, have a banner and take a photo with it! :rotfl2:

I figure it would work out best not to rush over to Mk area.

I am loving the outfits too. Claire will be so cute...if I do say so myself.

I checked the menu for Yachtsman on AllEars & The Dis. The menu posted on those sites are different than the one on the Disney site. Here's hoping the WDW menu is the correct one.

I really wanted to try Yachtsman this trip, but it will be closed. Darn!

I wish all the dang menus matched. LOL I'll have to look at the others. I usually do, but just didn't this time. But I think we'll be OK, I do like steak anyways.

Yesterday was a hard day. My mom had called me before 7 AM, which is very unusual. I was supposed to come over and house sit while bunk beds were being delivered in the afternoon (for when the grandkids spend then night). I thought that was a bit early to have her call and remind me.

But that wasn't it. Years ago, after my grandma died (she lived on the same property with a couple of barns separating our houses), her half of the property was sold to my cousin. Our side was left with the house and a big pole barn and grain bins. Her side had all the wood barns and my grandmas house. She lived there a couple of years and sold it.

It was sold to a guy named Jim Bob (yes that is his name LOL) and he and his wife (and I think 1 kid at the time) moved in the house. They had it rewired since it was old and took off for a trip to Florida for vacation and the house burnt to the ground.
It was hard on my dad and Aunt because they grew up there. But Jim Bob built a new house further away on the property. A few years later his business burnt to the ground. Eyebrows were raised (I also think his parents have had 2 fires as well).

Well Tuesday around 1:30 AM, my Mom woke to what sounded like a Canon going off.. She looked out the window and the sky was full of light. She realized after a few seconds that one of Jim Bobs barns was on fire. This is the barn closest to my dads pole barn, which is big (81 feet long) and then my parents house is next to that.
Dad called 911 and 4 fire departments came. The wind was blowing out of the north east, which meant it was blowing it towards the pole barn. Jim Bobs side of the property was safe.
The fire department told my Mom to shut all windows in the house if any were open because the way the wind was blowing, it might go to the house and they were going to soak the house if it got close. Thankfully it never did.
They told my parents that if it was 10 minutes later when they called the house would've been burnt too. The pole barn is still standing but is damaged so badly. The metal ceiling fan melted to look like a droopy flower inside. My dads work benches are unusable. Totally destroyed. Ladders melted. My Dads truck and trailer was in there and could not be gotten out because the door opens to the barn on fire. It was too hot to get in even and they had to bust a door down to get air in there. My Dad has a lawn mowing service and he was worried about his mowers. They do start, but he hasn't tried using them yet. His mirrors on the pick up melted a bit, the roof of the trailer melted and bubbled. We're pretty sure the pole barn is totaled. Dad only has $50,000 insurance and we are sure to rebuild the barn it would cost more than that.
Where was Jim Bob during this?...sleeping. They had to call and wake him up. His property is completely fine. There was a building backing up to the other side of the burning barn with out a blemish on it. It was the strong wind that made it get our barn. You would be amazed that 90 feet away from the burning barn (back side of pole barn closest to their house), my Dads pole barn has melted insulation. It was much worse than I thought it would be. I feel so bad for my Dad. Jim Bob's insurance should cover it...except he only has homeowners and he think he only has $15,000. Dad said his insurance company said they will "work"..or fight with Jim Bobs to get payment, but you know how that is.
Jim Bob normally has horses in that barn, but he had taken them somewhere because of the dry grass around here. He does this a lot, so that’s not odd. Luckily, it was mostly just junk in the barn, not a lot of valuables, but some old trucks, but he thinks the fire could've started from a battery. He had hooked up a battery charger to an hold truck the night before and they think the battery exploded as of now.
Not only is it hard for my Dad because of his pole barn, but also because the barn that burned was built by my grandpa, at least 80 years old. Even though Jim Bob owned it, it was still in our minds as "our barn" after so many years.
I'm sure there will be some sort of investigation since this is Jim Bobs 3rd fire. This guy must have the worlds worst luck...or an arsonist in his family. (and there are rumors he does have one in his family, but why they would burn there own property is beyond me...no insurance on the barn to gain anything)
Dad is worried about his truck too. It's fairly new. and he even made the comment that this would be the last truck he ever buys because he is 65 and will retire in a few years. The windshield is all clouded and someone told him they think some windshields have plastic mixed in the glass, if that’s the case, then it melted. Also some things under the hood are soft when they should be firm.
Lets just hope things work out and they don't bet screwed over by insurance companies.

I was going to take pictures, but stupid me got half way there yesterday afternoon and realized I left the camera at home. Mom has called today and asked that i go and take pictures, so I'll probably head over there this afternoon.

So sorry to hear about the fire and the damage to your Dad's barn and business. Prayers going up that the damage is not much.

Sorry to hear of the fire damage. Thank Goodness nobody was hurt and that the house wasn't harmed.

The sentimental value of the barn is understandable. My Grandparents are selling their home and land, and I just can't come to terms with it.

Hope it gets all sorted out quickly and properly.

Sorry to hear of the fire! It has been very dry around here, and was extremely windy this week! Can your parents go after Jim Bob's homeowners insurance for replacement of things? If its found he caused it, even accidentally, I would think he'd have to be liable?

Let me know what you think of T-Rex. We did it a few years ago, and it was MEH. It didn't have as much "stuff" going on as rainforest cafe, in fact the decor was bland, and the food also was just, OK. It was very similar menu to RFC, overpriced, and very large portions of stuff that you wouldn't necessarily want leftovers of.

Love Claire the model! I love your "clothing schedule"! On our cruise this spring another DIS member was making one up too! I laughed, but it makes sense, especially for help packing for a trip so long!

Oh Jen, I am so sorry to hear about the fire and the damage it caused. If you guys have any problems with the insurance companies, I'd suggest you see a lawyer sooner rather than later. It would be worth paying a consultation fee to a lawyer just to know what your parents' rights are.

John's grandparents lived right next to them when he was growing up and, even though the home and land were sold many many years ago, they still look over at it and call it Mamaw's house. The memories made in those buildings never go away.

Oh Jen! I am so sorry to hear about the fire. What a horrible thing.

How lucky that your mum woke up and was able to call the fire brigade in time.
Sending good thoughts and a  for all of you!

Sorry about the fire damage. My thoughts and prayer are with you. Every time I pass my grandmothers property going to my parents house, I think of all the fun I had growing up and playing there. It has been 25 years since the land has been in our family.

Jen, this is terrible! The whole thing smells fishy, sure hope the insurance companies take care of your dad's losses. There is a two year window in which all things must be settled. I know this because of our dealings with insurance over an accident. It was a mess.:sad2:

I guess he was having a few issues with one of the mowers today. I know a hose was melted and so was the back up hose. I haven't heard anything else yet.

It is a good thing no one was hurt. It's hard to see stuff that is yours...no longer be yours and then to see it go away is hard too. Sadly the one barn on the property that should've burned down didn't.

I guess Dad has to have his insurance go after Jim Bobs. I am not sure how it all works, or what did will be able to get out of it. I am hopingthat things can be replaced. My Dad is really upset about losing the blue pole barn. He is sure he can't build one the same size. he is hoping they will say it's fixable, but I highly doubt it is.

I have heard mixed on T-Rex too. But we don't have a rainforest here either..I've actually only eaten at one once...at the Mall of America...so it will be fun to try something different.

I seriously do need to make a clothing schedule, or else i'll pack so many outfits and not know when to where them and then forget about something. :lmao:
Me, it doesn't matter. I can wash my stuff and wear it over again.

My Dad is such a trusting guy and he likes Jim Bob, so he never would want to cause any trouble...but he also may end up getting screwed from being so nice. But he really doesn't deserve to have his things totaled when it wasn't his falut at all.

We are thankful Mom woke up. The lady down the street said she heard it too and a guy around the corner heard it as well and called 911 too. So thank goodness something exploded or no one would've known.

It's hard to look at it as someone elses. When my cousing owned it, it wasn't such a big deal, but then when she sold it, it was kind of hard, and then seeing Jim Bob changing things around was hard. Not that he was bad, it was his and he just customized it to his needs.

I know. I really don't think Jim Bob is doing this...but I still wonder if someone else in his family or just someone he knows in general did it. he's got to have the worlds worst luck if these are all accidents.
I hope it gets settled fast, but I know it takes time. The insurance guy still hasn't come out yet.

I went over and took some pics today. I am slowly posting them on facebook and once I get them up, I'll post some here and then give the link if you interested in looking at the others.

Jen, I'm sure sorry your parents are dealing with this.

When you get a chance, I'd love a link to your FB photos.

Jen, your dad's insurance will pay for the damage then go after the neighbor's insurance. There is a two year statue of limitations & usually nothing gets paid by the insurance of the person at fault until almost the end of that time. If the neighbor is at fault he would also have to pay your dad's deductable also.

Hope that all gets worked out!

I got a few pages behind, but am caught up now. I love Claire's outfits!! (from a couple pages back)

So sad about the fire situation. Hope everything works out!

Jen, so sorry to read about the fire, just glad no one was hurt, but it's hard to lose something that is part of your family's history; definitely take pictures to document it, you never know if your dad will need them. My thoughts and prayers to you and your parents!

It should, but the guy told Dad yesterday it depends on if they find Jim Bob had neglegence. (I said after 3 fires...that has to be found. :rotfl:)
I know my Dad will have a fit if he doesn't get his barn up immediately.

I love her clothes too. I bet I only have a few more years of dressing her before she gets more of a opinion on this.
At least no one was hurt, but it is tiring. Since I live the closest to my parents, I hear all about it daily.

I got quite a few, but we found out the houses siding has heat damage too and I really didn't take any of that close up, so I guess I'll get some this weekend.

Here are some pictures around my parents house and fire damage.

Here is their house

momshouse.jpg

The blue pole barn in the distance is the one that got damaged...doesn't look to bad from this angle.

momshouse2.jpg

momshouse3.jpg

Remains of the barn...Even though that barn in the distance looks really bad, it was not touched by fire...it's just really old and falling aprt. My dad barn would be just to the left of the picture.

burnedbarn1.jpg

It was kind of sad pulling up and seeing how much damage was done to the outside cosmetically.

shed1.jpg

This is a metal ceiling fan. The heat melted it.

shed4.jpg

The end of a ladder.

shed5.jpg

My Dads workbench was here. I guess the fire started behind the wall from the heat and they had to bust it up to put it out.

SHED7.jpg

Workbench overturned and pushed out of the way.

shed11.jpg

My Dad had like 3 cases of 8 track tapes. LOL! They were all closed and really the boxes and tapes faired well for as hot as it was...of course we wouldn't be playing them ever again anyways.

shed18.jpg

The burnt barn remains

barn9.jpg

This doghouse was against the barn but on the opposite end from where my Dads barn was. Look how only the roof got charred. All because of the wind, it was pretty much untouched.

doghouse.jpg

The barn is to my backside now and you can see in the picture the backside of Jim Bob's house.

cratebarn.jpg

And another view.

I have many more loaded on facebook if you want to check it out.

We also found out that my parents siding on the house (on th side and backside of house) did buckle from the heat as well and will need to be replaced.

Jen, I did check out your photos on FB and I still can't believe all the damage that has been done.

Please give your mum a huge  from me!
