Universal’s Cinematic Spectacular. Anyone seen this show? Any choice spots to see it from? Any tips, was it good? We will only get one day to see it, looks like it ends on aug. 3rd, thats our first US trip day. Gotta get it right the first time,lol.....
thanks!

Yep, I love it. My favorite view is along the lagoon near E.T. and Simpsons.
That area is now blocked off with the construction of the new Duffy's Bar or whatever it is. When the walls are down, rumor has it that area will be a "preferred" viewing area.....i.e. pay to see it from there or as a meal inclusion thing. Since that area's been blocked off, we've viewed from the same side, but closer to Transformers end of lagoon nearer the middle screen. You can actually see a bigger area of the colored fountains from there. The only disappointment we've ever had is when the wind kicks in a little too much and blows the water screens which tends to distort the movie clips.

thanks yall. the US website says its through aug. 3rd. i guess there will be no show after that?

Oh, I hadn't noticed that! We're making our first trip to Universal August 18th - I hope they will have some sort of show at the end of the day.

No, the show will not end on Aug. 3rd.

That page is there to tell you what TIME of the day the show is being shown. After that date, they haven't decided the show time yet. I have seen many people misread that, maybe Universal could be clearer, but the dates listed on that page get extended month by month as the show times are finalized. Some days the show may not be shown due to private parties, hard ticket events or just regular maintenance. But the show has no scheduled end and even the pre-show part is updated to publicize new movies, Despicable Me 2 is the latest example.

We are going to be there the same day, and we had heard it was not playing that night. Would be nice if it is.

It must be playing year round. I was on the phone with reservations the other day and they asked if we were interested in the dinner/preferred seating that they offer.

We are not going till November. The dinner and preferred seating sounded nice though. They have a dessert reception on the patio to go along with the viewing of the show.

Is this a show like Illuminations where people start linking up an hour ahead of time?

What time would you recommend that we grab a spot and where is a good one for a last minute commitment (if there is such a thing)?
