What is the difference between the two? Is there one? I'm curious, because I booked on the United web site, and 3 of my 4 planes are Ted planes. Also, their web site states that they show NBC based programming. Do they show citcoms? I've never flown United/Ted before, and I'm wondering what I have gotten myself into.

TED is the LCC wing of UA. If you are not an elite member there really is no difference. There is no first/business class hence no upgrade options. There IS an Economy Plus section for elite members, or those who want to pay to sit with extra legroom.

TED serves BOB (buy on board) boxed meals. WILMA (boarding process of window/middle/aisle) is also a friend of TED's ;)

Elites tend to hate TED; for general members or non members there really isn't much difference other than you will get half a can of soda instead of a full can of soda.
