Good point. It is my understanding the reason for choices is some CM's did not want to have their real hometown listed. Not a unreasonable fear with some of the nuts out there in the world.
AKK
Cast members in the Star Wars areas have ones that are Star Wars related, like Tatooine, Alderran. You can put whatever you want. I have a friend with Pawnee, IN on hers. (Not a real place for those of you who have not watch Parks and Rec)
I guess I just don't see the purpose of name tags if they don't "mean" anything-Debbie Downer signing off now.lolCast members in the Star Wars areas have ones that are Star Wars related, like Tatooine, Alderran.
There was a guy who was college program and worked out door foods at Hollywood Studios. He had Antarctica on his. He made up a story about how his parents were researchers there, and his mom ended up giving birth to birth there.
As I know there have been like a dozen people actually born in Antarctica, and he was not one of them!

The United Kingdom is a country.
Good point.
It seems they would still want England,Scotland,Wales or Northern Ireland on their name tag.
I know some people who work in EPCOT and have Progress City, FL as theirs. It is a cute wink wink to other Disney fans. I had 3 name tags with different cities/colleges on them.
Funny enough the name tag you see someone wearing may not even be their name! Costuming keeps extras since you can't go on stage with out a name tag. Usually it is just Chris from Orlando, FL (oh I feel for all the real Chris from Orlando guys/girls) but the one time I forgot mine I chose Alex because it was in the loner box and I didn't want to be Chris.
Good times!I always lost mine, and always grabbed the same one from the bin - someone's whose name was Amira. I ended up with that one so often all the managers knew it was me when someone talked about Amira (one time I got really sick and another manager had to call mine and tell him where I was. Thank goodness my manager knew who they were talking about when they said "Amira!"). Now, as a nod to my Disney days, my daughter's middle name is Amira.Funny enough the name tag you see someone wearing may not even be their name! Awesome-to me that is the purpose of the name tags-I always find it so interesting to see where everybody is from and many times their hometown or Country is a great conversation starter.Mine said Glasgow, Scotland when I worked there. Which is the city I grew up in, strangely I bumped into a girl with Rutherglen, Scotland which is the small town I grew up in. I assumed more people would know Glasgow though.

I love United Kingdom Pavilion-ALWAYS some of the friendliest CMs in the Showcase!
I hope you enjoyed your time there!![]()
I had one with UK, one with Wales and one that said my town on it (still have). Some times I was also known as Pat from the USA which is one of the Bin names (try explaining a UK accent but being from the US and working in the UK pavillion its very strange). Also the best part is that if you are from Wales you can get the welsh speaking flag put on as WDW don't have anyone to test whether you can speak welsh lol. Its something that still amuses me to this day - although I can speak some welsh there is no way I could have a full conversation and translate.
I did, I was based in DHS ABC commissary so super hard work but met friends for life! Definitely need to get to texas to visit them!
