Uniquely-themed McDonalds restaurants

WOW, that first one looks amazing! Has anybody been to it?

We have // It is big // But nothing special IMHO // not that nice IMHO (older -- could see a reburbishment in order)// not worth a visit MHO// My son who wanted to go after seeing the advertising (We didn't stop the one year to his dismay and it was on his list for the next year) -- said boy that wasn't worth it -- false advertising. No one in my part of ten thought much of it (only one DS who was under 12 in our party). And DS typically has a better time at local McDonalds we have at home compared to this one.

We love most Orlando attractions, but this one is a skip in our book. // If your curious give it a try, but I'd keep expectations pretty low.

I'm going back a few years too from when we visitied. DS is now 16 lol.

I have. I was there back in November of last year with some friends who were traveling through the area to a karate team. It is definitely big, but everyone had a good time. My friends, their dad and I played some of the games. Their mom and grandmother liked that there was more of an option than regular McDonald's food. (Grandma had pizza and said that it was better than she was expected.)

we have 3 weeks ago?

Well ... it's a ... McDonald's ... nothing more to say
of course it's big, but you really need to be bored by everything else in florida to view this as an "attraction"
go there, eat, and be on your way (and that'll be my best advice)

I usually swing by the Sand Lake location at least once a trip. I don't necessarily get anything there, but I'm usually bringing someone who's never been there just to show them the excess of it.

:rotfl: It's like a train wreck, I have to share.

:)

I've stopped by some of hte other McFun locations and honestly their theming is often better and they often offer the same unique expanded menu. They are often much nicer, which I think may have to do with the fact they were mostly built with that theme, while the Sand Lake location I remember as a classic "Typical" McDonalds back in the 80's that over time grew as a playplace was added, then made larger and enclosed, and ultimately thru a series of remodels and renovations over the years expanded and built up into it's current almost frankenstein-like state.

That first one, the largest one...I was there in 2006. It was FILTHY. Dirtiest McDonald's I have ever been to. I would not let my kids play because it was so dirty & I would never go back.

I never been to the "largest McDonalds" in Orlando but I have read reviews. It is sad that one of the top fast food chains located in one of the world's most popular family destination cities can not be top notch. You would think the corporation would want that location to be one of the best around. :confused3 I would think if that place was CLEAN, bright & with great customer service, parents would not have a problem feeding their children standard fast food on vacation.

We have been. It is gross. We went once and even the younger ones thought it was gross and dirty.

Thanks for posting this list, it was very interesting to click and see what the different ones were like.

When my kids were little I dreaded their Dad bringing them back home from running errands and announcing that they had stopped at our local Micky D's. I had to throw out their socks because they were black from running on the dirty floors and their hands were sticky from touching everything. Personally, I think when you mix kids, food and an indoor playground you are asking for trouble. I wonder what the cultures would grow if you swabbed one of those places.... Never mind! I'm having nightmares just thinking about it.
