Does anyone have a uniqe way that they carry their pins? Any Ideas other then the basic lanyard around your neck?

We have a backpack-like tote that we got as a castaway club member for our most recent Disney Cruise. We take that with us to the parks to carry our cameras, ponchos, etc. I though about pinning my trading pins on it.

I carry both the lanyard (with maybe 5 pins on it), and a small ziplock baggie of more pins, in my fanny pack. That way, I can take the heavy thing on and off during the day. The baggie keeps the rest of the pins separated from my cell phone, wallet, glasses, etc..

...we have worn multiple lanyards. We tend to carry them with us, and each member of the family might choose to wear one or more (we all have two or three).

As our collections grow, we are looking into other options; perhaps a lanyard with a couple of pins for trading, and a book for the collected ones. Still, there is somethign about having all of those pins out there to see.

We once met an old man with a fisherman-style hat COVERED in pins... you could not see the fabric anymore!

I use to pin them on my backpack, but it really got VERY heavy, so I only have a few on there now and carry the rest (the ones I want to trade) in a bag in my fannypack

I have a messenger-type bag that I wear over one shoulder (across the body, so it doesn't pull) and I have all my pins pinned to the outside of it. I got sick of wearing heavy lanyards, which tangled with my camera strap, so this was my solutions. CM's seem really impressed with it, and the way the bag is designed it's easy to unzip to do trading. The only downside to doing it this way is that the bag is one big pouch, so if I put too much stuff it in, the stuff tends to knock my pin backs off and I lose pins...usually I hear them hit the ground, but I've lost half a dozen or so never to be seen again. Ah well, I just figure some lucky kid picks it up and has a nice start to his/her collection! :thumbsup2

I have a small, fanny pack size trading binder with a shoulder strap on it that I carry them on. Oh yea, and my kids usually carry it for me !!

If fashion is an issue this may not work, but I saw a man wearing a fishing vest covered in pins. It was cute.

I've seen a lot of people put them on hats...but I also like to put them up the shoulder strap of a tote...for that matter you could actually just cover the outside of the tote but I've never done that.

I've seen that guy before too, that is unless other people have adopted this same idea. I wouldn't be caught dead wearing it, but it was pretty cool.

My husband carries his on the strap for his camera.

I saw this really really cool guy showcasing his pins when we were at the Finding Nemo Musical in AK. He was wearing a red and white checkered vest (think checkerboard) and in the middle of each square was a pin. He must have had hundreds of pins on there, but it was stunningly impressive.

I seen a guy, i can only assume he worked for disney, (or was an EXTREME collector) because he had a full length coat on that was almost completely covered in pins!

erm.. not sure about any other ways to carry them that havent already been said.

Moved this over to the ThemeParks Community Board.

Thanks,

Knox
