Hello everyone!
Very long time lurker but brand new member :)
We are from Toronto and have been lucky enough to visit at least twice a year since 2010. I personally tend to be a creature of habit and familiarity definitely helps my anxiety! We went for Hallowe'en for the first time last year and loved it so we are booked again for a Hallowe'en trip and can't wait! Our love for all things Disney has finally rubbed off on my husband as well lol.
This trip we hope to celebrate a few things, our 14th wedding anniversary, my son's 12th bday, my daughter's 9th birthday and, most importantly, my husband's 40th!!! We offered a trip somewhere new he wanted to go but he wanted to stick with Disney for Hallowe'en because he knows how much we all love it.
So I'd like to make this trip a little more special. Try something new, whether at the park or in the area as well. As I mentioned I have a lot of anxiety and researching some of these things gets a little overwhelming so would love to hear some suggestions of what others have done to make their trips extra special, especially when it's not a once-in-a-lifetime type of trip. Open to special meal ideas as well. We are vegetarian and have played it pretty safe so far while dining out. Is Blue Bayou worth it?

Sorry so long! I look forward to any ideas :)

If the Haunted Tours are going that might be a nice thing for all of you to do.
I'm not sure how the tour would be if the party is moved to DCA.
We have done the Halloween Haunted Tours once and loved it.
It began late afternoon and ended in the dark at the haunted mansion. Loved it!!!
I don't remember it being that expensive either.

Thank you for the warm welcome :)
I've never heard of the Haunted Tours! Sounds spooky and definitely something new and unique for us! Something to look into for sure!

Would you be interested in going to Mickey's Halloween Party? The parties usually start the last week of September and run through October 31st. We love the parties -- lower crowds, trick or treating for all, special fireworks and special parade, and a chance to dress in costume at DL! (Costumes -- not required -- can be as simple or complex as you like, as long as they comply with Disney's rules.)
Check the menus for vegetarian options for Blue Bayou, Steakhouse 55 (yes, they do have vegetarian options!), Napa Rose, and Carthay Circle (NR and CCR have seasonal menus, but at least you can get an idea of what they offer) on allears.net. There are restaurants in DTD that are fun, too, like the Jazz Kitchen, Catal, Naples, and Tortilla Jo's. See if any of those menus looks appealing to you. Blue Bayou is lots of fun, but we think it is more special for the atmosphere (we prefer the food at NR). But other DISers love the food at BB. So make sure to scan the menu to see what you think.
Halloween Time is so fun at DLR and it is easy to find lots of special things to do. :)

ETA: You can have a custom cake delivered to TS restaurants in the parks. It might be nice to have a family celebration cake delivered to whichever restaurant you choose. Search on this board for the Disneyland Cake thread -- it has recent info and photos.

Yes! We went to the party last year and our definitely going again! Maybe I can convince my husband to wear a costume this year too :)

Thank you for the restaurant suggestions and the cake sounds like a great idea as well!
