Unique egg decorating ideas

Last year right after Easter my husband found the idea of using silk ties to dye Easter eggs. I think we're going to try that this year, but I was looking for some other unique ideas. I'm really bored with plain old dye kits.

We did the silk tie thing a couple of years ago. while they were pretty, not very vibrant. The colors were pastel & muted even with brightly colored ties. I'm not sure if I did something wrong, or if it was because the ties were old (we got them at the goodwill).
It was a lot of work for not so great results.

Lots of creative egg dyeing sites on web . My grands were tickled with the tin foil, sponge, and tie dye, we did this year.
