Unexpiring WDW tickets for deceased person?

:surfweb: There are a few unused days left on a multi day unexpiring WDW pass in a recently deceased relative's name. Anyone know if the days could be used without contravening Disney policies? Not looking to break rules here.

Actually a frequently asked question, here.

Generally, those tickets can be used by another family member.

If they are tickets that have been used by the original owner within the last 10 years,
a trip to guest relations (telling the reason for the change) prior to the first use by the new person can get the finger-scan issue addressed.

Sorry for your family loss.
 
They gave me a credit for the unused days when my mother died.

Sorry, just another question arising from your answer. Can't be sure when the multi day pass was last used, it may be over 10 years ago by the time we get back to WDW, as we only visit every few years. Is this a problem?

The timeline matters because the finger scan information may not have been carried over since the last time they were used. You'll only need to visit guest relations if the finger scan is on file. Otherwise, you could just use the ticket without going to guest relations.
