Ok I shared this with my "all guy" family today and they looked at me like I was crazy. I have a friend that when ever she travels, she takes all her old or worn out undies and after she wears them she just tosses them. No yucky underwear laying around for a week. I thought it was a great idea and when I replaced my undies this fall I saved the old ones for our Jan WDW trip. Bought all new undies for DS today and told him to put all the old ones away for WDW. He and DH just looked at me. Maybe because in the past we got NEW undies for trips but this makes things so much easier!!! So, has anyone done this or are DS and DH right and I am planning a little too much???????

I haven't done this but I have heard of it and I think it's a great idea! Just make sure the old undies are still comfy... I had some newer ones on my last trip that I *thought* were comfortable, but with the heat & humidity on top of all the walking and the occasional wet ride, well let's just say it can cause some chafing issues.

OH, opposite of my Mom's rules, always take new undies on a trip.

Same Mom takes older clothes and shoes (travels alot overseas) and after she has worn them, she leaves in her room or finds someone who will donate (once a bus driver in Turkey who collects for a church). The purging helps her make room in her suitcase for her new travel purchases !

We do this. I take all my old undies that are ready to get thrown out. After wearing them in the World I toss them. I did the same thing with DD's bathing suit this past trip. It was on its way out, so after our last trip to the pool I tossed that. The only thing that I insist on having in mint condition on our trips are my socks. I her terrible feet and can't take any chances.

sorry but I am :rotfl2: I have never know anyone to do this, nor have I even thought about this before reading this!!

I will put in my vote though, that I usually use vaca as an excuse to buy new undies and socks, and well, I would want to wear them!! How much room does underwear really take up in your suite case? :confused3

I confess, I am a do laundry on vacation person!!!:laundy: At least one time anyway, the thought of coming home to all that laundry! :faint:

Take "old undies" :rotfl2: I agree with KARALYNN, I would want "new undies" for my trip. Why not take the new ones? I just bought the new Hanes body creations microfiber hipsters and I am so sold on these. I'm going to buy "new ones" for my trip in March.

Like your mother always said "Make sure your underwear are clean incase you have an accident" :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I will also be doing laundry :laundy: while on vacation. Makes it easier to pack!

What are you gals doing in these undies to not want them sitting around for a week in a bag to be cleaned. :stir:

I also know some here on the board thats not even a problem as they wear none at all. :rotfl2:

OMG I am :rotfl2: at this post!! Aren't you the least bit concerned about your underwear being "discovered" in the trash?? And where they'd go from there?? Do they make it through the garbage process undetected or do they wind up in the "hands" of someone?? I shudder to think...

I think that makes a lot of sense. Although, I can't see myself hanging onto undies that need to be replaced to take on an upcoming trip. In theory, it's a good idea, but personally I'd like to take the new ones on the trip! ;)

I not only do this with underwear but also shampoo, conditioner, hair gel, hairspray, tooth paste and tooth brushes. I save all these items with about a one week supply (about 1-2 inches of shampoo) and bring them on vacation. That way we have less to pack coming home and have brand new toothbrushes waiting when we come home.

I say if you buy new underwear then throw away the old ones. How much underwear can one person have?

Do save at least 5 pair for when your " aunt comes to visit" :lmao: Don't want to mess up the new ones!!!

Sorry, Had to say that! :rotfl2:

Oh, I also save my last tooth brush to clean around the house :teeth:

I can't seem to get the smilies to work for me today, but

I'm rolling on the floor laughing my A** off!

This is way, way too much thought into a vacation!

laughing, laughing, laughing

It's usually the undies that have had one too many visits from Auntie that get tossed in Disney. :rotfl2:

I know the last trip we took my son was not completely potty trained. He was fine with the #1, it was the #2 he had issues with. I did not want to put him in pull ups because then he would just go in his pants all the time and at least we had mastered half the problem. So before we left I went to TJ Maxx and bought some undies for him on clearance--lots of them. Then at Disney everytime he had a "accident" (at this point there was not much accidental about it) I threw them away and put on a new pair. There was just no way I was going to carry those filthy things in my backpack around the Magic Kingdom. Yuck.

Uhhh....No. Couldn't do it. I put on "my Sunday best" for vacation - new socks & undies for vacation.

Funny story about finding undies in the garbage though.....my brother-in-law left all his clothes in the washer one night, got ready for work to find out he only had wet underwear. Put them in the microwave to dry them. Imagine my sister's suprise when she found burned underwear in the garbage!!!!

I've heard stories of people doing this only to get a package a few weeks later ... "Dear Guest: The enclosed property was found in your room by the housekeeping staff."

I WOULD DIE!!!!

I always buy everything new for our trip and I do laundry while I am there. If I were to throw stuff out I would be too worried the whole time that someone would find it..EWWW!!!

That's not a bad idea in terms of lightening your load on the way back - but- I generally stop wearing undies for a reason. Either the elastic stops holding or they start to creep up south if you know what I mean. Or maybe they have little holes in them or, gosh, the possibilities are endless. I like to wear my most comfortable clothes on vacation, especially if I'm going to be walking around all day. I think I'll stick to taking my best undies with me. But for those of you who take the old ones, hey, more power to you! :bitelip:
