Has anyone used the disposable cameras they make that you can use in the water?
I am wondering about taking them to blizzard beach-if I get one for my son (12) he would have a blast with it-loves to take pics..but I am assuming that he would not be able to take it on the slides themselves? What about on the family raft ride? I can't see it being a problem on the lazy river or in the big pool.

We have used those cameras. I was very suprised at the quality of the photos. They were much better than I expected. I have never gone on the slides, but my kids(when they were still kids) did and I don't think they took the camera on them. I'm not saying you can't because I don't know the answer to that.

I took mine on the lazy river raft, the family raft ride and in the tidal pool. I think the only place you couldn't and wouldnt' want to is the extreme rides!
Only problem I had thelast time I took one, We got sunscreen on outside case. Didn't realize till we almost finished the roll. It kind of ate into the plastic and a lot of the pictures are "foggy" looking.
This was the only time it happened! Very bummed!

Grover,

I buy 3 or 4 underwater cameras every summer just to have around the house when we are out at the pool. I also take them to the beach so I don't have to worry about anything happening to my good camera. I think they take awesome pictures. I've taken them w/me snorkeling in The Keys and have some great
pictures of lobsters, Sgt Majors, clown fish and other "critters".

When we went to Disney in June I took one to BB and carried it w/me everywhere we went. Got some great pictures of my girls on the famiy raft as well as on the lazy river. I KNOW I took it w/me on the slide where 2 people can ride together b/c the CM took a pix of DD and I before we went down. I didn't ride any of the "extreme" slides so not sure about those.

I buy the Fuji brand b/c they are cheaper and the pictures are great. I also buy them for my clients that are going on honeymoons to destinations that have good dive sites. I definitely encourage you to go ahead and buy a couple. I also carried it when we went down Splash Mtn and Kali Rapids and didn't have to worry about my good camera getting wet.

Hope this helps in your decision making.

I THINK they're about $7.99 but that seems high....might be more like 6.99. I always use coupons w/mine so it brings the price down. When coupons come out they're usually $1.00 off for a 4 roll pack of film and $1 to $2 off for the cameras. I stock up and use all the coupons I can. As many pictures as I take, I KNOW I'll use the film or cameras eventually!!

grover,

we took our underwater camera to BB last fall and we had a blast!

All the CM's saw our camera and never said a word about not taking them on the slides.
I would recommend using Kodak cameras as oppossed to Fuji, as the photos from the Kodak came out WAY better!!!

We use those cameras all the time and they are great! Last trip I had it at Typhoon Lagoon and took it in the wave pool, on castaway creek and on the slides.

At this point I am seriously conisdering buying the underwater camera they have in the National Geographic catalog for $99 since I have spent that and more for disposable cameras for use in our pool and on vacation.

Get a couple and let your son have a blast! Just be careful of those underwater shots! :)
