So now we've had two "Underrated/Overrated" discussions. The first one focused on WDW/Disneyland attractions, and the second focused on restaurants. Now it's time for the third category: Entertainment.

Now, when I say "entertainment", I mean anything that is not specifically a ride(this may mean that some people used these entries for their "attractions" votes, so there may be an overlap, but I don't care, and since I'm the one who created this thread, I make the rules).

In other words, this would include: stage shows, evening shows, parades, movies(such as the ones inside the WS pavilions), performance artists/groups, things like that.

Remember, this ISN'T "best" and "worst", or even your "favorite" and "least favorite". This is simply what you feel is an under-appreciated "entertainment" offering, and one that, in your opinion, doesn't quite match the hype.

Now, let the arguing....errr.....discussion begin!

Here are mine....

Underrated: Voices of Liberty inside The American Adventure at Epcot. I had long overlooked them, because A)I've heard a million singing groups in my lifetime, and B)They were going to be singing songs I was already familiar with. So only recently have I really discovered and appreciated them. They're SO talented, and the songs SO moving, that I can't help but stand in that rotunda and marvel at every performance. Powerful and pitch-perfect. And the perfect lead-in to the actual American Adventure show inside the theater.

Overrated: The "Finding Nemo" musical at Animal Kingdom. I'm not saying it's bad....I don't think it's bad. I'm just saying that every time I see it, I find myself thinking halfway through "Man, I could be on the Safari or riding Everest right now". I think it's a combination of A)The familiarity of the story and B)The relative(in relation to other parks) lack of stuff in AK that contribute to my ambivalence towards it. Plus, I get kinda weirded out by the humans holding up those big spears with fish puppets on them. Again, it's not a bad show, and I really like that "Big Blue World" song(especially as a Kentucky fan). I just think it doesn't quite match the attention it gets.

Again, NOT "best/worst", or "favorite/least favorite". Just one that you feel needs more hype, and one that doesn't live up to its existing hype.

Great question!

Under-Rated - Jammitors in EPCOT. Not a "huge" performance, I'm aware, but I found them the 1st time totally @ random, and was totally mesmerized by them - their "drum" performance of course, but also their energy, comedy, audience interaction, and just their overall enthusiasm that they REALLY seem to enjoy what they're doing. Totally awesome "my fave little thing", and i try to catch them at least once a trip now.

Over-Rated - Not there anymore, so hope it counts - but - American Idol in the Studios. Could NOT for the LIFE of me figure out WHAT people saw in this! The times I went, there were more CM's performing to "fill in the gaps" than actual guests, and the guests that were performing were AWFUL. I don't just "let's give 'em a chance because they're probably nervous" like a karaoke night somewhere, I mean awful. Plus I did NOT feel this sort of attraction even belonged there in the first place.

Underrated: Madame Carlotta & Madame Renata in MK at the Haunted Mansion. Usually found gentily seated on their bench on the front lawn of HM. From Character Central web: Madame Carlotta is one of the 999 ghoulish inhabitants of the Haunted Mansion. The niece of Master Gracey, and sister to Madame Renatta (sic), Madame Carlotta likes to hang around outside the Mansion around Halloween time, regaling unsuspecting passers by with her deathly funny, if not morbid tales of life and death. Beautiful costumes. Beautiful ladies. And throw innuendo like nobody's business, especially as the night grows long.

Overrated: Duffy. Nuff said.

Underrated: Yee Haw Bob. He has a cult following that rivals Adventurers Club, but some many "Disney fans" have never seen or even heard of him.

Overrated: Beauty and the Beast show. Every time I pass that line of people on my way to ToT I shake my head. I can't wait 90 minutes in line in 95 degree weather for much anymore, definitely not tht show.

Ugh! I will DEFINITELY ride on the "overrated Duffy" train! Hi Llama!! :lmao:

Underrated: Fountain of Nations show. I LOVE this!

Overrated: Fantasmic and Wishes (tie). Sorry but Disneyland has a much better Fantasmic AND way better fireworks. Wishes is so tired. And I hate those metal bleachers at Fantasmic. I'd rather stand than sit on those.

Totally agree on yee has Bob.

Underrated: I thought of a number of these but I will go with the Citizens of Hollywood - love the variety of jokes and that they include the crowd (usually kids - who get a prize at the end). Totally my type of humor and something that seems very "Disney" to me ... definitely hope they stay once DHS becomes Fantasctical IP Land

Underrated: Rivers of Light - it isn't even open yet and people were going crazy trying to get a dining package for it .....

... ok, real answer, I'll go with Beauty and the Beast. It's not bad but I know some people love it and to me the production quality is well below other shows like FotLK and Nemo
