UNDERDOG and SWEET POLLY's 8th DISNEY CRUISE...1st time on the DREAM

Love an Underdog and Polly report! I've been reading them since we went our first DCL cruise in 2009. We just finished our 3rd in August and have a 4th booked for August 2014.

well welcome back! pixiedust:
we highly recommend the Nov 2nd Disney Fantasy...:sail:

Dec 5th

A relaxing day at sea!

That was one thing we liked about the 4 night cruise thats different from the 7 night....On the 7 day Castaway Cay is your last day of the cruise and we tend to be more saddened that the cruise is over on that day..
But on the 4 day you still get a day at sea after CC to unwind. (and eat more "free food")

We slept late (for us anyway)7:30..headed to Cabanas for bfast then grabbed a seat by the pool early..The adult pool on the Dream seems smaller than that of the Magic or Wonder, and with more passengers we figured we'd grab a spot early..

After a little sunshine we headed over for a few rounds of golf..

We had noticed on the Navigator that there was to be a "Diaper Derby" in the Atrium so we decided to check it out..It was hilarious watching the babies race across the floor...Being grandparents of 3 little ones, we really enjoyed this!:thumbsup2..Strict rules were announced "NO WAGERING" but Underdog made some wise bets anyway and paid for a future cruise with our winnings.:rotfl::rotfl2: ( I'm kidding of course):rotfl:

After lunch we decided to get most of the packing done to avoid a mad dash to pack later...As luck would have it, our toilet wouldnt flush so a quick call to Guest services and within seconds it FLUSHED!..We were both stunned! Holey Crap!! Big Brother really is watching us.popcorn::.You mean they can control the flush of a toilet from a main control room??:eek::rotfl:

Some of you who know us know we collect Diney Vinylmation figures...Much to our amazement in the Vinyl trading box at the giftshop were the "very diffiicult to find" Carl and Ellie from UP...I quickly pulled out a few traders we had and made the switch..Then Robin decided to take them on an Adventure.:upsidedow

We watched the "See You Real Soon" character greeting in the Atrium, had our last dinner with our tablemates and said goodbye to our servers..then just took a romantic walk around the ship.popcorn:::flower3:

The plan was to try and wake early enough to see the ship return to port around 5 am or so..When our cruises begin, we always try to get to the park at Port Canaveral and watch the ship return..:sail: (usually 5 am) Knowing we'll be boarding in just a few hrs..:dance3::yay:

Loving your report. We will be on the Dream this November 10 for a 4 night cruise for our wedding anniversary. We will be cruising with 10 family and friends so I love hearing all about the Disney Dream. We have cruise the Wonder and the Magic so we are really looking forward to the Dream.

What? Almost done???? :scared::sad:

You haven't posted nearly enough pics!!! :sad2::rolleyes:

We need more food porn!!!!!!!!!!!!!Where's the checkin strips and burgers and fries????? :p

And just to add....don't you have to wait until you've made your excursion reservations to link up for dining? For some reason I remember people having problems doing their bookings on their night when they were linked with others. :confused3 Not sure though. Cass, can you confirm? :wizard:

Yes, you guys always wait until after the online check-in stuff is done because we had such a huge problem on the KK cruise. Only one person (of those ressies that were linked) was able to be online at one time :guilty:

still have LOTS more pics to post for those who hang around.:3dglassespopcorn::

No food pics here though..we're really not the kind who cares that much about foods..Especially the fancy ones.

Will also have lots of pics and a review of the MVMCP.:santa:

DEC 6th

To our amazement, the ship was already docked when we woke early..We heard a rumor that she actually docked around 1:30 am!!. I guess the Captain speeded things up in order to beat an oncoming storm or something?

We grabbed our last "free" bfast" at Cabanas and headed toward the exit..
As much as we'd like to hang around the ship the morniong of debarkation, we usually go the opposite way and make every effort to get over to the Disney resort and then the parks ASAP!:wizard:
Plus we had tickets to MVMCP tonight!:santa:

If you are some of the few early passengers to leave the ship, we've found you actually get a Mears shuttle van to drive you over, thus avoiding the waiting for an entire bus to load.:yay:

To our amazement, we had the same van driver we had on our previous cruise a year ago..A guy we'd been joking about for a year because he had been so obvious about looking at his tips as he left passengers off. (and shaking his head in disappointment each time):upsidedow Right Nancy?:rotfl:

Upon arrival, our room was ready and we dropped off our luggage and had previously arranged a ride from a friend over to Theme Park Connection in nearby Winter Garden..

If you've never been there, we highly recommend the place! Its like another attraction itself, with tons of Disney park memorabilia and collectibles.

After a morning of shopping, we had our friend drop us off at the Contemporary (since it was closer) and we just walked over to the MK for The Christmas Party!:santa:

IMG_2936_zps23b16bde.jpg

It had been a few years since we'd done the Xmas party. (2005 i think)..Always been fans of the Halloween Party and when we last did the Holiday one, it was great..

We had a great time at the party..Too much free hot chocolate and snickerdoodles (but thats our own fault)

Being Dec 6th, we originally thought we'd get a fairly quiet Chirstmas Party, but once we heard the official grand opening of the New Fantasyland would also be the 6th, we kind of knew it would be fairly crowded...But the crowds didnt stop us from having an amazing time. we got to bed around 1 am..

:yay: Another UnderTartDogAnnihilator TR!! :yay: We just returned from a 4-night and this is just the DCL-withdrawals-therapy I needed! Thank you! :goodvibes

So we rode the new Test Track 3 times with Lisa! Special thanks for making a "Magical Memory"!:thumbsup2:woohoo:

How cool is that! Love to hear about 'pixie dust' moments!! :wizard:

As much as we love Earl's, we're not paying for food today when we can get "free food" on the ship!!:goodvibes

:rotfl2: I hear ya!! We are the same way! :thumbsup2

Smooth pickup at the resort and we were in Port canaveral in about an hr.:dance3:

At first glance, I read 'smoothie pick-up at the resort' and I thought, 'WHEN DID THIS START?!?!?'

its all about the holiday decorations isnt it?:santa:

Wow! Those decorations are absolutely amazing!! Maybe I'll have to convince Better-Half to visit during December. Would you recommend Christmas Party or Halloween Party more? popcorn::

Hi Wendy!:flower3:

Smoothie pick-up! Perhaps i should enter that in Disneys suggestion box!:thumbsup2

Robin really wanted to see the Christmas decorations in December so we thought we'd go to the MVMCP too...But truth be told we both think the Halloween party is a lot more fun!!::yes::::yes:: you're never too old to go trick or treating at WDW, right?:goodvibes

Awesome pics as usual :goodvibes :thumbsup2 :cool1:

What time did you head to the exit on the cruise, do you remember? Just wondering what time they have been starting disembarkation recently :confused3

we had an early bfast at Cabanas then headed right toward the exit around 7 or 7:15..and as i recall we were surprised because we thought we'd be waiting a little while but nearly right away we were cleared to exit.:thumbsup2

DEC 7th

The breakfast lines were kind of crazy so we just hopped a bus over to Disney Studios, (it'll always be Disney MGM Studios to us :wizard:) and ate leftover snickerdoodle cookies we had in the backpack from the night before.popcorn::popcorn:: Underdog really knows how to treat a lady eh?:cutie:

We rode quite a few rides this day but the main reason we were their was to see the Osbournes Spectacle of Lights..It had been since 2005 and things had changed a lot! :santa::santa::thumbsup2
