Undercover Tourist Sale

Jumping in on this thread with a UCT question.

I bought tickets from UCT (adult tickets at child prices) but now I need to change my dates. I asked UCT how to do this and they gave me two options:

1) You may request a 95% refund and as long as you rebook within 30 days we add the additional 5% back to your financial institution to your existing order.

OR

2) Rebook first and we will refund 100% back to you on the existing order. We will need the new 12 digit order once you rebook if you chose the first option. It will take approximately 5-7 business days and our Refund Department will notify you once it has been processed.

The benefit of these two options is I don't have to pay that 5% penalty to get the "refund," but the drawback is I have to rebook at today's prices, which doesn't have the adult ticket at the child price.

If I just load my existing tickets into MDE can I then change the dates directly through Disney? I know if I do that I lose the refund option from UCT, but my dates are solid now.

Related question: I've also decided to stay on property, so if I book a package directly through Disney (hotel and tickets) are the tickets any cheaper than if you get tickets-only through Disney?

Thanks!

Have you compared the prices? If I recall, it's not a huge savings between child vs adult tickets. It's also possible UT is running a different promo now (maybe 6 days for the price of 5 or similar) that gets you approximately the same savings.

Maybe. I know some folks with UT tickets have been told by Disney that they must go through UT, though others have reported upgrading UT tickets by phone with Disney. Not sure why...?

Probably not. You can try pricing out a package and separate hotel + tickets to see. It never quite adds up the same, and the package reservation doesn't give a breakdown of hotel vs ticket.

I was able to call Disney and they just fixed it all for me. I changed my 6 day single park tickets to 5 day parkhoppers. I didn't lose the discount UC gave me. Had to pay the difference, of course. The cast member loaded them into MDE and even merged some accounts, etc., that needed to be cleaned up. Stayed on the line with me until I was sure everything looked right in the app. Even offered to make my park reservations for me. Excellent disney customer service, as expected.

If you had uploaded them to MDE yourself, do you think you could have changed the dates yourself without going through UCT? I am looking at UCT tickets (have used them before but it was pre-reservations), and it seems to show that you buy the multi-day ticket, then put that into MDE, then make the park reservations? Was this not how it worked when you bought yours?

I assume so but I didn’t try.
