Unconfirmed report that The Enchanted Tiki Room will return to its original form

The site from which I pulled this article is usually accurate, though this is still unconfirmed. If it's true, it'll make many of us happy; I think a lot of us were hoping for this.

Okay by me. I don't even know who Iago is supposed to be. I just liked the enchanted birds.

Obviously the fire is what initiated the re-hab, but I wonder if Gilbert Goffried's controversial comments about the Japan earthquake led to (at least in part) the decision to remove his affiliation from the attraction.

I also heard he just lost his gig as the duck too, one more reason to avoid that company. I've always hated his voice, and I love the Tiki Room at Disneyland. I'll be very happy if this report is true.

This is great news. While I love Gilbert Gottfried as a comedian, I hate, hate, hated the Under New Management version of the Tiki Room.

I have NO idea exactly what Mr. Goffried said about Japan, and in a way I don't even want to Google it to find out.

But - Back to the topic, I'm all for bringing back the old show, if only for nostalgia's sake.

I *have* noticed a small resurgence in that little Florida orange juice bird, on T-shirts and figurines. Perhaps the sponsorship of the attraction in going back to the FL Orange Juice council or Tropicana or something.

Who knows.

I have a Little Orange Bird plastic bank from the early seventies. I do not know if it came from Magic Kingdom or someplace else in Florida. I was in high school, but memories are still blurry.

I'm the same way. For whatever reason some of my clearest, earliest memories of the MK involve The Tiki Room, and that Orange Bird.

Of course, now as I sit here typing this, I can't quite remember how they were connected. He was part of a display in the "Q" outside of the Tiki Room, right ?

Maybe those memories aren't so clear after all.
