Anyone have kids that fly unaccompanied minor. SWA
My niece is flying to Disney this way and we (the family) were all worried before, but now more so.
Please tell me your kids experiences.

My DS did this on Continental when he was 9. No problems at all....in fact he said he got too much attention because he had an empty seat next to him and the flight attendants kept stopping to make sure he was all right. This was Cleveland to Ft. Myers.

No, but I was the seat companion to a six year old traveling unaccompanied on Southwest, from Chicago to Las Vegas, at the request of a Flight Attendant (I'm a middle-aged, apparently "safe" looking female :)) Now, he was probably more experienced flying than your niece is - heck, that was his fifth trip that year - but your niece will be fine.

My DD14 has flown all over the world. She just got back last week from a solo trip to Kansas with NO PROBLEMS. Good luck! :goodvibes

My daughter has flow to Spain and to Dallas by herself. They will sometimes move the minors to a section of the plane to be all together. That happened to my daughter twice. When coming back from Spain she got moved to first class. They take good care of them so I wouldn't worry.

Just be prepared, They are the first ones to get on the plane and the last ones out. Most airlines request that you stay at the gate until the plane is up in the air. With my daughter's trip to spain, they had a back up on the runways and I was there waiting a good 2 hours.

My DD has flown alone since first grade as an unaccompanied minor and when she was 12 she started flying on her own not as an unaccompanied minor! Never any problems and she said they will either put them all up front by the flight att. or all in the back if those flight att. are to watch them (close to where they sit if not attending to customers) They transfer them from gate to gate. They'll be fine, my nephew flew as an unnacompanied minor and met us at Disney on one trip it worked out well, just make sure your flight lands way before his does!
