Unable to run Princess Half

I have read on the boards that if you were unable to run in a disney event (Princess Half) that some people were able to transfer this years race to the next year. I am unable to run this year because of an injury and when I called they told me no. Non refundable non transferable is what she kept repeating, finally she took my name and said she would take it to the board. Has anyone ever been able to transfer to the next year or am I completly crazy to expect this. If I cant run is it totaly unacceptable to give a number away. I paid a lot of money and someone should get use of it. I know that it is not sanctioned. What are your thoughts? I have never been in this situation so please if this is unacceptable dont flame me, just wanted your thoughts.

Are you still traveling to MK that weekend? If so have you thought about the 5k. Maybe they might be willing to put you there. I know they say non transferable but what about an event thats the same weekend. If you are able you can walk it.
I really wanted to do the Half Marathon but had Gall Bladder surgery Dec.28th. I knew that there was no way I could be ready for the half. So I'll do the 5k and maybe next year be in the Princess Half. Good Luck!

Most races will NOT transfer your registration to the next year if you are unable to make it for whatever reason. They will not refund the money either. What you might be thinking of is that they will allow you to sign up for next year guranteed - in the event the race sells out. You would then still have to pay another registration fee.

This is what I was thinking. Many races will guarantee entry into the race the following year if you can't participate but you forfeit your registration and still have to pay again that following year. It is nice for races that sell out but kind of a waste for races that stay open so long.

I doubt they will do it. As for giving you number away, not allowed but I'm sure it has been done before.

In the past Disney has allowed people to defer entry to the next year. The only thing it does it garuntee entry if you register by a certain date, but your new registration is a complete regristration which means you pay for the race again. I haven't seen any benefit to doing this as the date they set to register by is earlier than the races have sold out in the last few years.
