Unable to go to Tower of Terror 13K? Help!

I attended the ToT13K and had the TIME of MY LIFE last year. I was bent on going again this year, and while I was trying wrangle flaky friends to commit to travel , ticket, and hotel expenses, I gave up and said "Fine, I will go myself." Except the race filled up on me. I am crushed. And what's worse, this is the last one. Does anyone no longer want their slot for the race or know anyone that is no longer able to go? Anyone have ideas? Anything?
Please, I want to go to the race so badly!

Sorry to hear it closed on you before you could sign up. I was contemplating doing this race since I did the first year and I figured it would be cool to do the last year but finances won't allow for a trip now (boo hoo) so I guess in a way its a blessing for me that it is full.

Have you tried calling Disney directly? It might require you getting a room through them but this page has a number and some rates. They might have race entries set aside for people who book through them.

If you are persuasive and really really nice there is always a chance you can talk them into getting you a spot. I know with the larger events they usually have extra spots that are reserved for charity organizations or travel companies that get unused and put back into the pool. Maybe you can snatch up one of those.

Good luck. There is nothing worse that getting locked out of an event you want to do.

How would you "trade out" the slot?
The race info says anyone picking up the packet for you has to have your ID.
The registration is by name and address, etc.
Not a random question, I really do want to know how you could trade.

I think the person "giving" up the entry would have to sign a waiver and allow the other person to pick the entry up for the original entrant. The only thing is it would look like the original person was the one who ran the race unless you don't wear a timing chip. Again I know this not allowed but I am sure it happens.

Tricia's correct. Just wanted to *** that they usually need a copy of the original registrants ID with a leeter from them saying the new person is allowed to pick up the packet.

Hi,
Six of my family members were supposed to run, but two of the college-aged kids suddenly can't go. We just posted this morning that we two extra numbers. We have the kids' waivers and copies of their IDs, so we planned to pick them up at the Expo Friday. The bibs won't have their names on them because they registered after Oct. 1.
If you still need a number (or two) just let me know.
