Ultrafeast: Beach Club CL Trip March 2010 - New 7/6

Haha, beforehand I just clicked the link from your other TR and didn't pay attention to the title. Now I saw that it's ultrafeast!!! Are you going to have ratatouille from the movie Ratatouille? :rotfl:

Saw your post on another PTR and decided to join in! I love reading TRs of people my age. :thumbsup2

Can't wait to hear more. popcorn::

Subbing. popcorn:: Saw your link on Stefy's PTR.

CL looks FABULOUS! Love your pictures. Looking forward to hearing more.

Laura (my sister) - She loves Michael Scott. (As in Michael Scott Paper Co?) .....and vegan. Boy does she sound interesting!:cool2:

Our room had a full balcony and overlooked Stormalong Bay and Crescent Lake

I want that room. We have GVCL booked and we always get terrrible views. We've come to expect it! It's a joke between DW and me. Which roof will we get this time:rotfl:! (She tells me to get over it....We're at Disney)!

Thanks Jen. Keep 'er coming!

The food offered at CL at BC looks so delicious! If I stayed there, I wouldn't even have to eat at the parks and could save money instead of purchasing the DDP. Someday I hope to stay there (maybe on a solo trip or go with someone who would split the cost - I've always paid for our trips so far).

The BC rooms are beautiful and you definitely can't beat that view

BC is where my family and I would like to stay on our next trip and your pictures just make me yearn for it even more:cloud9: Looking forward to all the insider info popcorn::

Your view at the BC looks awesome. I also love the pic of breakfast at the kiddie counter. You guys seem like a lot of fun and I can't wait to see what y'all have in store!!

I'm in, we visited the BC and YC to stroll through on our recent stay and it looks so nice. We are seriously considering BC or YC for our next stay. Your pictures make it look like the right decision.

We love to have a balcony and yours looked perfect. I've heard not all BC rooms have balcony's so I'm leaning towards YC, but your pictures make me consider BC.

We loved BC, but you're right, not all BC rooms have balconies, and many that do don't have full balconies - just a "standing balcony," which I've heard is just big enough for one person to stand on. Sitting on the balcony was wonderful, so I might have to support your YC leanings!

I'm in for more details and pics. :thumbsup2

We're staying at BC for the first time in May. Stayed at YC during this past NYE, so I know that BC will be very similar, but still very excited. I love seeing your pictures---it helps build the anticipation! :)

Glad to have you reading along! May is so soon! :woohoo:

Subbing! Love your pics - we will be there in 28 days and it will be our first CL since they refurbed it. Cannot wait! It looks so much bigger and the food looks updated too. Cant wait to hear more!

CL was awesome! Yay for only 28 days! :yay:

I'm in toopopcorn::

Thanks for reading!

I'm in too-great start-can't wait to hear more:thumbsup2

Thanks! More is coming soon!

Lovely pics! Looking forward to reading more!

Thanks! :goodvibes

 Yes, Laura says her favorite paper corporation is indeed the Michael Scott Paper Co. I did have a normal description written for her, but she requested it be removed and replaced with the declaration of her love for Michael Scott. She is an odd duck. :rotfl:

We want that room again for our next trip! We've had some awful GV rooms in the past, so we certainly appreciated this room! :) Hope you luck out and get a good one too this time!

Im in! You had me at the pictures of the food. :thumbsup2

We do love our food! :thumbsup2

Thanks! I loved that we ate breakfast at the kiddie counter (and that my brother was the one who found us those seats )!

Looking forward to reading more - your photos are fantastic, the BC looks gorgeous. It's somewhere I sort of thought about before but seeing your photos I'm now sold! :goodvibes

Wow, there are a lot here! A few more coming up, and then we'll really begin!

Now to begin the story of our trip… we arrived at the Beach Club after a relatively uneventful flight and Magical Express ride, but did not see a CM waiting for us at the front entrance or in the lobby. After entering the lobby, we went back out to the entrance area to ask the CM there what we should do about checking in for CL. The CM outside turned out to be Teena, a very helpful and lovely regular poster over in the BC/ YC thread on the resorts board. :goodvibes I probably sounded like a dork telling her that I “knew” her from here on the DIS and had found her posts very helpful. But it was all good, and Teena brought us over to Alicia, the CM who brought us up to the club level floor (5th floor) and checked us in. We sat in chairs at one of the CMs’ desks in front of the entrance to the lounge to check in – we purchased park tickets, received maps, resort info, CL hours, etc. Although I’ve never found regular check-in to be onerous, I enjoyed this sitting down, private check-in thing, and thought I could get used to it. Upon entering our room, we were delighted to see that we had a view of Stormalong Bay and the lake. Unfortunately, we also had a handicapped bathroom, which meant the sinks were inside the bathroom (not outside the toilet/ shower area). Our one complaint about our Poly stay in September was that sinks were inside of the bathroom, and really hampered our ability to get ready, so we were torn over what to do – possibly give up the upgraded view, or deal with the sinks in the bathroom? :confused3 Well, Kevy took charge and went out to talk to the CM at the desk, who happily switched us to another room, telling Kevy we would love the view. When we arrived in the new room, we really loved it and the view (as you may have guessed from seeing the pics I previously posted)!

So far, we were absolutely thrilled with CL! We freshened up a bit in our room, and then swung by the CL lounge to check it out and grab a cookie (for me) before heading over to Epcot. The walk from the Beach Club to Epcot is such a delight! Entirely eliminating transportation (and all of the problems that can come with it) to one park was so amazing. :thumbsup2 The weather was gorgeous – no humidity at all (notice our hair, especially in comparison to August/ September trips :lmao:) and warm enough to wear tee-shirts and flip flops with our jeans.

We walked through England and Canada to Future World, and enjoyed the Flower and Garden Festival creations that we saw along the way.

Kevy loves his Peter, and even asked for this pic!

Our journey culminated in our arrival at Sunshine Seasons for lunch. I got a couple of sides from the Asian area, Laura got these packaged salads, and Kevin got a Caesar salad. Here are our items:

We were starving after our travel, so these lunches worked. Nothing was amazing, but we were all relatively happy. Except Laura’s was kind of disgusting – she wouldn’t recommend it.

Next up, first ride of the trip – Figment! :woohoo: A wonderful time was had by all, as always. We then wandered out into the sunshine and over to the sea to take a ride with Nemo.

Kevy’s reaction to his first ride on Nemo? Weird. That was our initial reaction too, until we saw the Nemo musical at the AK and started loving the big blue world tune, as well as Nemo’s dad screaming “where are ya, son?” throughout the ride (which we ask each other constantly). Next we checked out the aquarium. Kevy loves looking at animals (I wouldn’t call him an animal lover, he just really loves watching Animal Planet and such), so we knew he’d love this part. We enjoyed looking at a couple of dolphins, and stopped in to see the manatees and the Finding Nemo fish in their respective areas.

Next up on this random trip where we did every weird thing that moved us was a trip to Innoventions (west, I think – the one closest to the Land/ Seas), where we velcroed up some free velcro frogs. :cheer2: Mine is a Viking prince who can fly with his butterfly wings named Odd-Bjorn. Laura’s is a Disney tourist named George Banks/ Jan. Kevin’s is a man wearing a tie named Paul, with a Mickey hat on his foot in case Kevin wanted to use that as a hat later. :lmao:

Once we’d secured our frogs (and secured them to our wrists with nifty velcro bracelets that a CM gave us :woohoo:), we found ourselves in the IBM Smarter Planet area of Innoventions. And so we decided we’d hop in line and make a video game. We loved this – we all stood in a line (shortest to tallest) and performed the commands that the screen in front of us told us – jumping, running, and dancing! Before we could stop him, Kevy input our language as Spanish, which is why you’ll see Spanish text on the screen. :confused3 If you’re not into living as dangerously as Kevy, you can choose English. Here’s a link to our game, in case you want to play! It’s exactly the same game that we played in Innoventions, but their controls were cooler than using the space bar and arrows on your computer.

And I will leave you for tonight here. If you miss us too much between now and the next segment, please enjoy playing our weird video game!
