Out of curiousity, was this the first time that Jack was allowed to do his own thing? Just wondering since somewhere in the back of my mind is the thought that I may have to let my kids do that in a few years. I am always thinking ahead to subsequent WDW trips.

Yes it is. This was only his 2nd ever trip to WDW. Still, I've xplained the TTC to him and transportation system many times over. He really knew better than to go to the TTC.

Wasn't that storm on Tuesday scary? That will always be one of my most vivid memories of June 2008 -- the year I didn't know there were tornado warnings as we dashed to our Animal Kingdom dinner.

The way the thunder was shaking the Virgin Megastore, I wasn't too suprised to hear about the rope. I half expected the lights to go out at any moment, but they didn't.

Steph - great update. I went into sugar overload looking at those pics, tho'.

STOP SCARING ME about teenage boys. I don't even want to think it . . .

Sorry, dear but we all get to take our turn. BTW, he has a job and steady GF atm too. *sigh*

Great update!! I really want to go to Goofy's and dip some marshmallows in chocolate!! I have never done that believe it or not! We usually go right for the mickey rice crispy treats (the BEST RC treats on the PLANET!!)

Miss Hawaii seems pretty cute.

Crashdad manned the camera as we turned from I4 onto Disney property and he snapped this shot of the archway!

I’ve never had an AP before, so I was surprised that it was a paper ticket. I was expecting something sturdier than that.

I think that this picture about sums it up:

Yes, very strange that they give you a paper ticket for 1 whole years worth of use and a plastic one for a few days.

The pullout bed in the living room of the 1BR villa was queen sized. Jack, Belle, and Peter fit in it easily. With the kids all tucked into bed, Crashdad and I headed into the master bedroom, I set a wake-up call… and collapsed into our comfy king-sized bed!

Why didn't you just bring a blow up mattress like, Mel?

Don't you know if there was a fire you couldn't have all gotten out? I love that you illegally had too many kids in your room.

Soon Wishes started, and Tinkerbell flew from the castle. Jack shot the following footage, which I love. It’s not so much for the fireworks themselves, but the ending where my big, grown, cell-phone-talking-facial-hair-donning man shows that there is still a part of him that will forever be my Kiss-Me-Darling little boy.

ROFL. No need for a blow up, besides I'd have to pack it. The 1BR villas are designed to have the pull-out bed. The Master bedroom has a King bed, and the pull-out in the living room is a Queen. Anyway, DVC will allow 5 in a 1BR in some circumstances, they just don't "provide any addt'l linens for the 5th person," which is no skin off my nose with a washer and dryer sitting right there at my disposal.

Although the 5th person linen rule doesn't apply to some of the rooms at Animal Kingdom villas as they are actually designed for 5 sleepers and you don't need any special permission at all in that case. Aren't you glad that you just got your first tip of DVC for Dummies useless information??!! Where is that Dummies smilie when you need one? Oh yes here it is:

Now that I have found this smilie, I think that I'll turn it into a background for my desktop at work. Sorry, but I kinda like the geeky lil guy. What can I say, I have must have a geek fetish too? NOHubby. Shhhh, he'll kill me for that one.

Anyway, when I called DVC member services, I got permission to book it for 5 and they booked ME for all of us as well.

So, I maybe just blew my image as a big, bad rule breaker! OOPs!


Ok I AM going to update this report, and go over more posts but not tonight! I have to compile my kids school fundraiser, wash a couple loads of carp, and somehow hit the shower - hopefully before midnight.
