My Hubbie and I have been thinking about our upcoming holiday.

Have a mere 8 weeks to go, which seems like a slot but actually has come round REAAALLLYYY quickly :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

SO we have our "what are you most looking forward to" discussion.

For me its:

DTD boat ride from OKW for Dinner - I just love it. It's when I am most contented (except for on the way back when the kids are asleep and I know I can just transfer them to bed without a fight :rotfl: )
Worms and Dirt in Animal Kingdom - Found this when we wne tin Jan this year AMAZING!
That first glipse of the castle as the bus pulls in :cheer2:

For him there is only one:

Pineapple floats in Magic Kingdom - He saves his snack credits for these! He'd rather go without a drink for 3 days just so have can have more than one in a day! :rotfl:

I just wondered what everyone elses were?

xx

Funny thing for me is that I don't ever watch Disney films, I have seen Toy Story, and Lion King but that's about it. Never seen Bambi, Snow white or anything like that. But yet I love going to Disney World and Florida, I think that I love in no particular order....

The cleanliness of it all
There is always something to do
Don't have to worry about things not being right
Weather
Everything is so well done
The sheer scale of everything
Plus all the rides and entertainment

No one at work understands, but then they have not been, so you can never explain to someone just how brilliant it is and that no matter what happens in the UK nothing will ever come close to just how great a holiday it all makes.

Plus the monorail thru the Contemporary is something I still get excited about and I 'm 43 !

Mine are:

Walking into AKL lobby after that loooong journey. It's just heaven.

Waking up the first morning at 5am and watching the animals wake up.

Hearing the Disney Transportation man on the bus. "We're on our way to the Magic Kingdom"

Watching Wishes and Illuminations.

Wondering which ToT drop sequence we'll get.

Crying at Finding Nemo The Musical.

My favourite is walking down Main St USA, smelling the yummy popcorn smell and seeing the castle.:)

aside from the movie comments, i wholeheartedly agree!

and i'm 43 also :cheer2:

Must be an age thing, another 43 year old here, and I love the whole experience and I always tear up when I think of all the effort put into EVERYTHING just for us!

:goodvibes

yep agree with you all...plus I love the fact that when we go back its like we never left and its just a continuation of the previous holiday and we are straight back into it...

I love the fact that when I am at WDW its like there is no other existance outside ie I totally forget that I have to go to work and pay bills and do other day to day boring things.

I love the fact that when I see that Castle on our first full day my heart skips a beat.

I love the fact that in my office of 6, 4 of us have been and totally GET IT and can talk about.

I love the fact that when we open the door and go out at 5 or 6 in the morning its warm/hot.

I JUST LOVE THE WHOLE DISNEY EXPERIENCE... :lovestruc

I made my first visit to Florida in August this year. I'm now going again in July/August 2013.

Cheesy I know but:

I just cannot wait to stand in the middle of Main Street and feel like I'm HOME

Hey you're in Cumbria - I'm originally from Whitehaven!

:goodvibes

With less than 5 weeks to go I am just looking forward to being home.

In particular this trip we are planning:
  • A last cinnamon bun from MSB before they turn it into Starbucks
  • Seeing Fantasmic as we haven't seen it in over a year
  • Holiday Wishes from TOTWL

Mine are;

- Forgetting I am 23.
- Epcot fireworks.
- ALL of the parades
- Splash Mountain First ride I have ever been on.

I love:

- walking out of the airport and into that heat :cool2:

- that first ferry ride to MK and that first glimpse of the castle pixiedust:

- walking into MSB and smelling that smell! Yum!

- waking up every morning and going for a swim before everyone else gets up :)

- IllumiNations!!! :goodvibes

This trip I'm really looking forward to bringing DS to my favourite place on earth and experiencing WDW with a child :thumbsup2

i cry at finding nemo the musical too and i've seen it something like 30 times!!!!!

I just love reading about everyone elses experiences of Disney.

I read each one - think ME TOO!

I just love that feeling of feeling like its the one place on Earth you are MEANT to be :thumbsup2

I agree that everytime we go back that it feels like an extension of every other time we have been.

Hubbie and I are thinking of emigrating as we LOVE it that much, but fear it may "dilute" the magic :confused3

It's starts the moment we arrive at magic express i love the little video on the bus.

Arriving at our resort and being welcomed home.

Getting to the room and smiling because you have a full holiday a head of you.

Magic kingdom opening ceremony.

Eating in the castle.

Por favor mantenganse allejado de las puertas

Standing in the UK pavilion and ringing home and asking 'how's the weather?'

Just to re iterate what some others have said, when your there, you can forget about everything, work, home etc, its totally immersive, nothing like it anywhere else, plus the steaks are to die for !!!

I want to go now...........:sad1:

I am 50 yet still love it. A good time for us was our first time visiting with my wife and then 5 year old son, John. He was sat on my shoulders in Magic Kingdom watching the parade. My wife Donna was filming the parade and John was screaming, " Mickey, Mickey" as loud as he could. Donna was crying with happiness at seeing his little face so happy. In Animal Kingdom John wanted his photo with Tigger. He "bounced" up to Tigger for his phto. Tigger was so good he bounced on the spot with John. Since then we have visited 3 more times and each occasion we have special memories. 3 more weeks and we return. Are we excited?:banana::banana: Cannot wait:thumbsup2

Three weeks for us too! I'm 56 and hope I'm still going when I'm 156!

For us, it is just the magic - we become different people when we are there. I like 'me' more when I am in Orlando.

I know what you mean! I don't change but without the daily work stressors I am different. In a nice way. Enjoy.:thumbsup2

I am 59 and feel like a kid when we are there. I agree with everything that has been said but my favourite moment is walking down Main Street listening to the music. I want to skip and
dance. I also feel I am home. :):)
This us a very happy thread !!
