You guys have some spectacular deals right now, Just wondering if any of you have ever booked for family or friends who live outside of the UK?
We live in Australia, but have friends in London, Wondering whether they can book for us or if that is frowned upon, or breaking the rules.
We don't have a WDW agent here, so it's either book through the USA site or pay huge prices from a local travel agent!
Thanks for any help in advance!:goodvibes

Smart question. ;) I know there are many of us out there that are not from the UK and book through WDTC UK for certain deals. I know that certain EU residents do and have no problem with doing so and getting what they booked for. Same goes for booking the UK ultimate park tickets.

Having said that, I know there are a very very few that have asked this question beforehand (either mail or phone) and have been told 'no'. Not true though when looking at the bigger number of folks they allow to book and incourage! Heck, WDTC UK knows I'm not a UK resident, but sends me specials anyway. Shouldn't do that if things aren't allowed. ;)

I would assume the biggest thing they're on the look out for is that a US citizen can't book, as to not influence the home market. Don't know for sure wbout those from Oz booking through WDTC, but I do know you guys can order and use the UK ultimate park ticket. Which would make me think it should also be an option to book through their website. Why not try? If it's not a possibility, the website shouldn't show so.

You have to be a UK or EU resident, or at least have a billing address by the look of it. I priced up a dummy booking and where you put in details, there is a drop down box where you select your country, and this only lists European countries. There's a link to click if your country isn't on the list, which then pops up:
If you reside outside the UK or European Union please visit your local travel provider for information on Walt Disney World or to make your booking

Thats correct but if the OP uses a friends UK address and credit card are they breaking any rules? Like I said its not in T&C's you have to be a UK resident so would this be doing anything wrong?
I know in the past I have had hassle using US websites with UK address so used US friends address for ease.

Ok, so I booked using a UK travel agent online, No Drama's at all. Had Australia in the booking drop down bits, paid with Aussie Visa, No problems. Recieved confirmations.
Got Saratoga Springs at 40ish% off, Free Dining (Table service) and a 14 day ultimate ticket at the price of a 7!!! Saved heaps!!!!

Great news, well done on the savings, glad you found a way around it.
Was it CompleteOrlando.co.uk ?
Just checked on their site, they allow it, looks like they even allow US travellers to book.

Yey! We will also be at SSR in October - such a good deal! What dates are you travelling?

Smart move going through a UK travel agent :thumbsup2
Glad you got the deal you were after!

Hmm not sure about Complete Orlando. I had a look on their t&cs and saw this:
Customers outside of the UK
Complete Orlando hold contracts with major suppliers and for contractual reasons we regret that we are not permitted to sell to customers outside of the United Kingdom. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

Not sure then, will be interested to hear where OP booked thru. I did a dummy booking on CO earlier and it took me to payment page and a drop box incl loads of countries incl Aus & US :confused3

False Alarm! I did the booking, made payment and recieved the automated confirmation e-mail and went to bed all excited.
Then woke up the next morning to another e-mail which said "Do you have a UK address, DIsney require this for the booking, therefore to finalise your booking I will require a UK address".
Don't want to do the wrong thing, So........Back to code watching and praying for a pin!:confused3

But the UK billing address is to verify the card used to make payment. If I wanted to book a trip for a friend/family member and pay for it on MY card, I would have to provide MY billing address. So if your friends booked for you and you gave them the funds to put into their card, would they not have to provide their billing address in the UK? I don't recall Disney UK asking if I had a British passport (although Thomas Cook always did and it actually said on my itinerary) so that may be a potential problem.

You do have to show ID when you check in, so I think there would be a problem if you are not the person whose name is on the booking. I think also there would be a problem if the person on the booking and the person whose credit card paid for it are different, particularly if they are in different countries, especially if the booking is a special offer. I wouldn't risk it myself.
At best you could end up paying rack rate, at worst you could be turned away.
With travel agents, it seems the contract to sell the special offer rates is on the basis that they sell them to the people Disney intend them for, so the agent wouldn't be allowed to sell the booking to anyone else.

i see the question has been answered..

i tried doing this a year ago......i wanted to book free dining at OKW via disney UK, but was told i needed both a UK (or EU) credit card and a UK (or EU) mailing address - since they mail the tickets/vouchers to you...

however, i have purchased theme park tickets from the UK ticket agencies by going through a friend of mine who lives in the UK.....
he paid for the tickets on his credit card and i paid him back...the tickets were mailed to him and he then mailed them on to me...

i suppose this could also be done for a resort reservation, but i haven't tried that...
i suppose you could have the reservation in your name, but paid for by your friend and with your friend's mailing address....there's no rule that says you have to pay for your own room...it just has to be your name on the room reservation....but you don't have to be the one paying....(i've paid for rooms that were in other people's names lots of times..)
so i suppose you could do it...i thought about doing that....but that's just too much for me to ask of my friend....
