We found it really hard to photograph the Spectromagic Parade and most came out blured. DBF worked out in the end for the best results to move the camera in time with the parade and that way they weren't blured.

Any other tips?

Depends on what sort of picture you want to get and whether you are using ther flash or not.

I assume that your DBF was not using a flash when he panned the camera? Useful if you are not using a flash and have a long-ish shutter speed. With the flash on you should be able to "freeze" the action ok. Otherwise you could try using the flash and a slowish shutter speed which might give you some blur in the background and a sharp foreground - I think it looks a bit more ambientbut what do I know!!

Sorry to say I'm struggling with this one too!

Either I haven't taken as many photos as I thought or they are all rubbish.
I couldn't find many parade photos, the best being a very out of focus Spectro photo. I'll just have to enjoy everyone else's entries again.

I've taken loads in the past but they are all Stills not digi.
The last trip I camcorded and DW took the pics on her camera.

It's so difficult to pick just one picture. I went through all mine and kept saying "this one!" or "oh, I love this one" . . . oh well. My entries in and I'm pleased with it (the Villains on Parade). It took a couple of sits through the parade and who-knows how many snaps.

I agree with Chilly I found it really hard to photograph the Spectromagic Parade. A little blury, but they make me smile.
