Could you clarify "live action"..... Do you mean like a photo from Shamu show, or a stunt show for examples, or an action shot such as a rollercoaster in progress ?

I have spoken with Deb and she says any or all of those are acceptable.

Excellent....should be another week of great photos.....there are some superb Water shots to vote for.

I hope my 2nd shot counts as "live action" the balloon was moving

Sorry, Tink - stunning photo, but not really in keeping with the topic. Save it for another week, maybe. I'd say the photos need to have a feeling of movement; of action. If it had been a close-up of the balloon with a roaring flame, then that would have worked.

is my photo of Cinderellabration part of the Happiest Celebration on Earth ok
if not I will withdraw it and look for something else

Personally, I think it's fine.

I love that picture :)

Thanks :teeth:

OK Deb - I'll save it for antother time :thumbsup2

Could you include live action on stage eg. a band (even if they were sort of characters - but not "disney characters" as such).

Hey, love that replacement photo you put up. Lovely to see another angle of the Magic Kingdom. I presume you were in the Contemporary when you took the photo.

Thanks :goodvibes

I was on 12th floor of the Contemporary and the gulls seemed to know when there was food put out in the concierge lounge as they'd always come around then. I couldn't really capture them well though.

I think it is a lovely photo, because it is from such a different viewpoint and with the gulls it is unusual.:goodvibes

I can't remember which photos I have posted now!! Perhaps I should have written them down!

Great shots Matt
I reckon you've got 1st & 2nd sorted this week.
did they come straight out the can in the green section or did you have to make adjustments, if so what did you do, i'd like to get some action shots as good as yours next trip. :thumbsup2

Apologies, I've been neglecting this thread. Both of these seem to fulfil the live action requirement to me. :thumbsup2

Hello mate, thanks a lot for the compliments (and you Tink).

The car is as it came out of the camera, with the train, I added the "lens flare" as there was a mark on the picture - it was from our old camera.

Both are with a shutter speed of around 1/60s I would think, but I'll check later.

The AK one is focussed on the mountain and the slow shutter speed allows the sense of movement of the train - done with manual focus, as the train would confuse the auto focus and may mean you couldn't capture the train at the right time.

The car, is panning with the car in focus, which means the car in focus, naturally, (well almost!) and blurs the background. Think I used servo focus on this one, which is where the focussing continually changes as you move the camera and lens, but again you could use manual focus. Not sure "normal" auto focus would be able to capture it at the right time. With panning ones, it is always tricky to get the speed right, so it is very much a case of taking lots in a row and hoping one comes out ok.

Matt

Cheers Matt I'll have to give it a try, It sounds a bit like patting your head and rubbing your tummy at the same time thou:goodvibes
