Uhm....Bahamas is now requiring vaccinations for all passengers over 12..

The majority of people booked probably aren't on these boards gnashing their teeth. The news just dropped a few days ago. I wonder if the people on here complaining about how awful DCL is will actually try other cruise lines or continue to complain. It would be great if they did because it might bring the prices down.
I have my first Celebrity cruise booked for next year and I am not booking more DCL until I give them a try (this will be after 25 DCL cruises). So, I was a VERY loyal customer. Maybe I'm an exception.

It's not that they're awful...it's just the lack of information when you have so many upcoming cruises with everything now in limbo.

I doubt the prices will be coming down any time soon and sure...some people may become so frustrated that they choose a different cruise line. I've been going with the flow with this like everybody else. It's just rough to be less than 2 weeks out and now we're back to square one it seems.

Actually have two cruises that I have possibly mapped out for next month (Celebrity and Royal). I would have never even looked at another cruise line as of Thursday morning last week. I even flipped from a 7 night Fantasy to a b2b on the Dream without even thinking last Monday.
Same for us, we booked a 4-night Dream in addition to our 4-night Fantasy the day they modified the cruises (both in concierge). I'm also thinking about a switch to Celebrity or even Royal (now that they are requiring vaccines) if September is not a go for DCL.

Hi!
Quick question, are they having live entertainment in the bar areas? We love going to Keys in the evening for a drink and some music before dinner.
We just booked The Magic today for a 5 night on The Magic in November.

Yes. There is some live entertainment. 2 performers currently on the dream. Doing multiple shows.

I've cancelled a couple of DCL cruises and rebooked with another line.

All you with Monday 8/23 by 12 EDT in the announcement pool are starting to sweat it aren’t you?
But seriously, they can’t let the countdown get to single digits until sail to make an announcement can they? (I mean they will, but holy dysfunctional cannoli)
My money is on late Wednesday or first thing Thursday morning now.

They are obviously stuck in some sort of analysis paralysis. They spent Thursday and Friday of last week deer in the headlights with no idea what to do. The weekend was probably phone calls to determine what their options are. The higher ups will make a tentive decision today or tomorrow. And then they'll hold announcing anything until they're done fixing all of the fantasy sailings from 7 to 4 days.

Definitely great to have some live entertainment! I saw a violinist in one of the vlogs.
Also pleased to see a pianist in the MDR.

Also shoutout to the Disney SM interns who are tasked with perusing the various social media, blog, and message board sites. Just remember, we’re not frustrated with you, we’re frustrated with the C suite of DCL.

yup. I feel so bad for the ones taking the brunt of the guests comments as they are so helpless. If they were all still in Celebration I’d probably have gofunded them some cookies or doughnuts. But since they are all still working at home..

I'm not as prolific a poster as I once was. ;)

I have DCL cruise #21 booked on the 9/24 Dream. Doing a long weekend and holding onto as much PTO as possible. I'll tell ya, the communication out of DCL blows right about now. Make a decision and give some direction already. Ugh. <--obligatory complaint

And, yes, I have sailed other lines. 7x. I have NO problem booking on other lines again if the sailings and schedules align with my needs. I love DCL but I don't particularly like everything they do. There's definitely things I think other lines do better. I don't subscribe to the belief that Disney service is better either because that's not been my overall experience on 6 non-DCL ships w/2 other cruise lines.

Add me to the list of open to options. I'm no apologist. We exist even here. Haha!

That's funny because in my Facebook group at least three people have booked the cruise within the past 48 hours and just joined. And they had absolutely no idea about the new rule.
Here’s what I don’t understand - what’s the point in cancelling before an announcement from a customer stand point? If you know your group can’t sail then nothing to really worry about as Disney is going to cancel your ability to cruise regardless and you may be surprised with a special offer (maybe not but you never know).
If you’re eligible to cruise and coming from out of town but looking to still come and make a park trip if the cruise is cancelled, just start making flexible backup bookings and again wait to see if you can benefit from Disney officially cancelling.

I expect the only people that are even considering canceling right now are those with bookings more than 15 days from now (since once you're under 15 days you are stuck) And they are not vaccinated and no plans to do so, and they realize their chances of sailing are virtually non-existent.

Whether they hold on and wait for Disney to cancel on them just depends on their patience for having their money tied up. I agree with you at this point it seemed kind of foolish to cancel on your own if it's specifically because of the new Bahamas rule.

How can any of us on the Fantasy modified cruises make a decision without the information we are waiting for? It's a total catch 22? And for the people who are on the 9/3 Dream - this is a nightmare.

At this point almost everyone on my Facebook group for the 9/3 sailing are assuming the ship will sail.

There seems to be mixed opinions as to whether or not they will require vaccines, or remove Castaway as port.
