Sorry, I just need to vent! I'm trying to book our dining reservations through Grand Gatherings for our trip in September. The folks at Grand Gatherings explained to me when I booked all of our rooms months ago to be sure to call them directly when it comes time to book my dining ressies to be sure to get what I need and she gave me "The direct Grand Gatherings phone number". Those were her words not mine. When I called that number today to make my ressies, all I got was the regular dining line who in turn told me to call the resturants myself because of my party size. I only have 19 people in my party. I say that because they boasted when I made my initial resort ressies that they handle "Much larger parties on a regular basis". I guess my rant is just that if I have to call the restaurants myself due to my "party size" (although they handle much larger on a regular basis), what's the point of going through Grand Gatherings in the first place? It was explained to me that these folks are supposed to help you coordinate all of this stuff to make it easier. I feel like I'm getting the run around. So I've called the restaurants and of course nobody answers the phone. All I get is a recording asking for my info and that they will get back to me "In a day or two"!!!! What's going to be available if I have to wait until then to hear back from them? Please don't flame me, I'm not trying to start an argument of any kind. I guess I'm just worried that we wont be able to get in anywhere. My family LOVES to dine at nice restaurants together, and I don't want to eat counter service for dinner. It's just not us. This is why I researched extensively to find the right places for our family. Has anyone had any issues like this, or is just my dumb luck as usual? Any suggestions? HELP!

I am sorry you're having such a hard time. I :worship: to you for being the one to do all of the organizing.

I've never had to plan for a large group, but I've read that you can call the regular wdw-dine number and ask for Group Sales/Dining to help with your reservations. Don't know if this will help, but at this point maybe it's worth a try? :confused3

Did you try to call grand gatherings and speak to someone else? I have done it 2x and havent had a problem booking large party dining.

(not that it is an excuse, but I find some of the people on the phone are a little less knowledgeable than most of us disney freaks)

I agree! Maybe that is the case. I guess I'll just have to try again with someone else. Thanks to all of you for letting me rant.:goodvibes

Try the GG number again, if that does not work call the restaurants. Make sure to call about 1 hour before the restaurant is scheduled to open. The host/hostess will be there but they will not be as busy as when the restaurant is actually open.

I was a CM at (the no longer there) Spoodles and I had to be there at least 1 hour before we actually opened. Once we opened we rarely had time to answer the phone unless it was really slow - which was rare :upsidedow
