How do I get a scholarship as a new orphan. New orphan means I just realized I was an orphan.

I think you may be looking for "change of circumstance" forms which are available at most colleges, they open funds that may have been previously unavailable and most community schools have advisors that sort of slide into social worker advocacy roles with students. Talk to your school or a community college ASAP they can help you sort things out. Even if you are at a big school and in a crisis consider sliding into a CC to get things sorted out then resume, as long as you stay in 12 credit realm loans can be deferred. I went with my son's friend to our local CC and they knew everything about everything.
