Ugh - Why must they say "Shut Up" in the movie Toy Story

I can still remember the first time that I heard those words said to me...it wasn't allowed in our household growing up. I was in fifth grade and had gotten into an argument with another girl in my class. She told me to shut up and I was so stunned, I felt like I had been slapped. The words were said in such a nasty, ugly manner and it wouldn't have mattered if she said please or not.:( My DD (6 1/2) is not allowed to say those words.

Be prepared, they say shut up and stupid in a ton of Disney movies.....I don't get it.

just wait until your kids get to middle school..."shut up" doesn't bother me anymore...

I agree!! If my 12 year old saying Shut Up to his friends is all I have to worry about at this age then I'm thrilled!!!

Oh, and the parent police can come take me away but I do tell my son to Shut Up because when I do he knows I mean business. If I told him to Please be quiet that would last all of .2 seconds!

My cure for the b word--I told my son to vacuum the house. This happened 2 or 3 times. Funny, he does not get bored anymore. ;)

Oh, I have! I'm often heard saying "for the love of Pete, would you please shut up!"
