Leshaface, I don't think eating food off a truck is weird at all...I live in NYC!!!

DH used to work at the Red Door Spa (Elizabeth Arden) on 5th Ave. in Manhattan. He used to get food from this one stand...it was a guy that sold authentic German food (we both love German food). It was his favorite food stand in the city!! We're definitely down for some tacos off a truck if that is the REAL thing!!! I probably won't even want to think of what we call "Mexican" food in NYC after going to Cali! Like when I was in France 14 years ago and couldn't eat a croissant here for about a year afterwards, I kid you not! :lmao:

Haha!! Very true! Forgot where you lived for a sec!;)

Omgosh I'm sure! So tell me, is the food in France comparable to the "France" at Disneyworld? Like what's served at the bakery counter at WDW...would you see those exact pastries served in France?

Thank you!!!!

Not only are your reviews hilarious, but you are oh so helpful too! :)

No problem! I'm so glad I could help! :)

When my sister and I went to Europe, it was right after my freshman year and her junior year of college. So, we had to be economical about things, being the poor college students that we were! We ate at a couple of local cafes in Paris and they weren't that great. We ended up one night at Planet Hollywood, and believe it or not, we had escargots there and it was unbelieveable! Now, mind you, I had only had escargots on a cruise ship before this so that's all I had to compare it to, and as good as it was on the cruises, it was even better at Planet Hollywood! And I have since had escargots in much better places and I still think it was excellent at Planet Hollywood in Paris! I know...PLANET HOLLYWOOD?? :confused3 :rotfl2:

The best things we actually ate were the croissants, bread and pastries in France!! I think we ate more than our weight each in bread and cheese because it was so good! I had a pastry with apple in it and it was unbelieveable, and the croissants, well...to die for!! We were about to board a train to go from Paris to Nice, and I bought a slice of quiche in the train station at a food stand...just because I had to have quiche in France. It was amazing!!!!! The best I ever had!

We also stayed in London for a little while. We stayed with a friend's aunt who was living there at the time. Her roommate (or "flatmate" as they call it!) was from France. She worked at a crepe stand in London and made us crepes with Nutella and banana. And, my friend, that was my introduction to Nutella and I have been hooked on it ever since!!!!

We went to 4 different countries (France, England, Italy & Switzerland). My favorite of all was Italy, for the food, the sites, and the people!

Going to Paris is one of my dreams! :cloud9: I've always been extremely intrigued with one point of interest of there...the Eiffel Tower...as a matter a fact, we share the same birthday...not in year of course! ;) I would love to experience sitting outside a cafe drinking espresso with a croissant or sipping wine with bread and cheese under the stars...

That's a little stange that PH would serve escargots there!! But hey, if it works it works! :thumbsup2 I've had escargots before a LONG time ago when I was a child, and recently got to try it again on the past trip to WDW and have to say that, that stuff is delicious!

Italy would be AH-MAZING for the food! Talk about carb overload there! Oh well, I'm sure it would be worth it!

How was Switzerland? Neutral I hear....LOL jk...I hear it's BEAUTIFUL there....ahhh one day, i'll be able to travel BIG TIME like that! For now I'm just gonna have to stick to the states, and perhaps Jamaica again...

When I was in Paris, unfortunately there was some sort of a strike going on so we were not able to go up into the Eiffel Tower. We were only able to view it from the outside. It was beautiful though! I actually liked Nice better than Paris...nicer people, prettier area.

I was in Geneva, Switzerland. It was beautiful! Expensive though, but we were only there for a couple of days. We had fondue there, excellent! And of course my sister and I bought enough chocolate to last us months!!

Italy was carb overload but amazing! I ate spaghetti carbonara so much, I don't even know how many times! In Florence I had the best lasagna in my life, EVER!!! :)

Oh no!!! That would be HORRIFIC if something happened if I went to tour the Eiffel Tower! I would probably start bawlling right then and there...no joke...

Omgosh how amazing was the chocolate in Switzerland?! :cloud9: <--- would this describe it!? :rotfl:

I can only imagine how REAL lasagna tastes like coming from Italy...Italian food is probably my next favorite food (after Mexican, of course!) Pizza I could eat on a daily basis...in fact that's what's on the menu for tonight! Were the Italian men crazy?! An old boss of mine had went to Italy and told me that the men there are so charming and give so many compliments to women...she said she got proposed to a few times!

Yes, the Swiss chocolate was heavenly! Unbelieveable!

Italian is my favorite! And I think Mexican is second...how funny is that? I say "I think" it is second because I have never been to California or Texas or anywhere in the southwest, so I never experienced real Mexican food. My DH could eat pizza daily too...I love it but I love other things too. We're going out to a really good place for pizza tonight...they have outdoor seating and it's so nice out today!

The Italian men were very polite and gracious. And yes, they do compliment women but I found that they did it in a nice charming way, not a disgusting way like we see here with men in the USA! :lmao: I never did get proposed to though, that's very funny that your old boss did!

I just wanted to thank you for your amazing dining reviews! I have enjoyed every second of them and would love more. Thank you for all the great information! :thumbsup2

Just caught up with your reviews, they are fantastic as ever. Glad you loved Sci Fi, we really enjoyed it. :)

Cafes in Paris are wonderful. Delicious hot chocolate, Croque Monsieur (toasted ham/cheese sandwich), croissants, pastries - so yum! :cloud9: The Eiffel Tower when it is lit up at night is very beautiful. Also you can take the train to Disneyland Paris - it's beautiful, especially the castle, it's like a fairytale one. :cloud9:

I hope your pizza date was good! That night we also had pizza and it was great! With some homemade Sangria! :woohoo: And tomorrow night, I'm making homemade Margherita pizza...love FRESH Mozzarella and tomatoes! And see I'm thinking that the best, REAL Italian food, has to be somewhere over in NYC right?? Or would you think more the Jersey area? All I know, is that whenever we go to PA, we always have pizza at this great place, but they give you utensils to eat their pizza because the slices are HUMONGOUS! Or they say to kinda roll it up in order to eat it..:confused3

:rotfl: I'm sure there was QUITE a difference from our American mens compliments compared to Italian men. It was probably really refreshing for once right?! :lmao: I mean, if you're gonna get a compliment, might as well get it from a guy that knows what he's talking about, and I'm sure those men know what they're talking about!

Aww I"m so glad you liked it! One more to go! The Wave!

Just caught up with your reviews, they are fantastic as ever. Glad you loved Sci Fi, we really enjoyed it. :)

So happy you like my reviews! If only they could continue on!! :sad2: Oh yeah, I'm so glad that we went with Sci-Fi!!!! :woohoo:

OH man I'm sure their food is OUT OF THIS WORLD! :cloud9: And that's another thing I want to do as well, is go to Disneyland Paris! Have you ever been? Is it quite different from the original Disneyland? There has to be some differences in order for it to stand out amongst the others right?

Hi! :wave2:

I've just stumbled upon your report so I'm going to start reading from the beginning. :)

So glad you tripped into my report! ;) Hope it didn't hurt too much! :lmao: Yay! Hope you enjoy it!

So today is the day... Today is the day in which my reviews will be DUNZO! I'm still going to do an overall comparison of which was my favorites and if the dining plan was worth it, but still sad that i'll have no more food to review! :sad2: Anyways, it will be up shortly so stay tuned! :thumbsup2

Today was our last official ADR! :sad2: And I was NOT happy about it! In fact, I could have thrown a fit right there in the restaurant and I’m sure that people would have understood! :rotfl2: You know how at the end of vacation, you’re ready to go home…this was quite different for not only me, but DH too! We both said I wish we could stay a few more days, but we knew we would return soon (not sure if you call Summer of 2012 soon). :upsidedow

So this was our hardest decision to make of all our ADR’s and here’s why:
1.) This was going to be our LAST Disney meal, so we knew we had to make it good! We hadn’t heard much about The Wave so we just weren’t sure. Didn’t want to leave on a sour note.
2.) We were debating on doing either an early breakfast or late lunch so we could either sleep in or go to the MK for one last time.

Ultimately, we decided to do a regular time lunch so we could use one of our leftover credits from Yachtsman () towards a quick breakfast, and that means we had to be up early to get to the MK so we could do a little bit of touring before having lunch…kinda eased the pain a little bit!

We had a 12pm ADR at The Wave and showed up about 5 minutes before 12. We were seated shortly after which was great cuz I was starving!

Here’s the sweet entrance and bar area!

Our waitress was Mary and she was wonderful! Very easy to talk to and made some great recommendations! We told her this was our last meal, so don’t RUIN IT! :rotfl: We all just started laughing! She really was a sweet gal! She even took a picture of us!

IMG_1315.jpg

She took our drink order, for me a Coke (2.69) and DH an Antioxidant Smoothie (4.69). She gave us a few minutes to look over the menu. I also got a few shots of the seating area..

IMG_1317.jpg

Oh I HAVE to show you a picture of my purse! My Disney Dooney bag purse that I got the first day at the World!!! You can somewhat see it in picture of us together but here’s a better shot! Sorry guys, you can just skim right over this...unless you're interested in it of course!

IMG_1326.jpg

IMG_1327.jpg

IMG_1328.jpg

Cha-zing I was sooo stoked on getting this purse! First of all I heart Dooney and I LOVE Disney! What a perfect combination! Ah, and I swore to only use it on Disney trips so it would only have that Disney smell to it! HAHA!

Alright, let’s eat!

Appetizers:

I went with the Lump Crab Cake - pan-seared with Napa cabbage slaw and ginger tartar sauce ~ 11.49

IMG_1318.jpg

Ah, so delicious and what was even better, was that there was hardly any filler in the crab cake! I hate when you order a crab cake with no crab and only bread..,how revolting…

Hunny bunny got the Five Spice Chicken Lettuce Wraps - water chestnuts, shiitake mushrooms, and soy ~ 9.49

IMG_1319.jpg

Omgosh these were gnarly good! I only wanted a bite….ended up with 1 and a half of the wraps! :lmao: I’m a trustworthy person, but NEVER trust me with your food! LOL!

The Entrees:

I ordered the Italian Chef Salad - Mixed greens tossed with red wine vinaigrette served with prosciutto, cappicoloa, provolone, salami and shaved parmesan ~14.99

IMG_1320.jpg

I remember thinking I don’t want anything too heavy for the flight home…um, Yeah right! You can’t really tell, but there’s TONS of meat….I mean, it was probably the equivalent of two sandwiches! But my was it tasty!

DH ordered the Grilled Chicken Breast Sandwich - with arugula, tomatoes, and goat cheese herb spread on multi-grain bread ~ 13.99 You can have your choice of fries, salad, or roasted potatoes, so he went with the potatoes.

IMG_1322.jpg

The sandwich was brilliant! I loved how red and fresh the tomatoes were, and how dark green the arugula was! They packed it out with arugula so it gave a really peppery taste to the chicken itself…ugghh so wonderful! The potatoes were seriously delightful…not a lot of salt, not too much oil, just perfect! I ate them all…poor guy…I wonder if he even ate??? :rotfl2:

The Desserts:

As we all know, DH didn’t want dessert but it was a necessity for me, like breathing, so I went and ordered the Decadent Flavors - Blueberry Compote with Yogurt Gelato, Lemon Cornbread with Vanilla Panna Cotta, Chocolate Mousse with Salted Caramel Sauce ~7.99

IMG_1323.jpg

I mean, do you really need me to tell you how satisfying, delicious, excellent, superb etc etc this dessert was?!?! Perhaps it was the excitement of having three different desserts on my plate at once, or maybe it was the fact that this was my last Disney Dessert, but I can’t stress enough how lovely this was! I wouldn’t have named it Decadent Flavors…it would have been Scrumptralascent Pleasures!

For those using the Deluxe Dining Plan, they take 1 credit per person because it’s a Table Service restaurant, so it’s 2 credits total.

For those paying OOP, here was our total for 2 Non-alcoholic beverages, 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, and 1 dessert with tax = $69.58

I was very happy with our decision to make this our last meal. It was filling and yummy. Next time I would like to stick this somewhere in the the middle of our trip though, just so I can try the Organic Beer Flight. Just to let everyone know, this restaurants prides itself in serving organic and fresh, local foods. But I would truly recommend this place to anyone for lunch!

So that's it people! The Ugh, what were we thinking thread is complete...but stay tuned for extras after the show! That’s a wrap!!! :wizard:

Hard to believe it is over :sad2:. Very glad you showed the closeups of your bag, I spyed it on the floor in the first pic and said to myself is that the bag ?:rotfl:The food at the Wave looked delish! :thumbsup2

How funny!! Yeah, I got to thinking, I should just show what the bag looks like, especially since it's Disney related! And the food was divine!

:worship: THANK YOU! That's supposed to be me taking a bow by the way! That's the closest emoticon they have! haha!

Great reviews! Really enjoyed reading along.
Very cute bag!! ;)

I'm so thrilled you liked my reviews! I know, I love my bag! Some people around here just don't get it though... Glad you guys get it!

Ok, 1st, I am definitely drooling over that bag!

2nd, I can't believe the reviews are over already! :sad1:

I am looking forward to your after-the-show specials!

We didn't end up having pizza at that place...when we got there is was SOOOO chilly and windy already, even though earlier that day I was outside without a jacket for a while (and I'm always cold!). So we decided to go to this Italian restaurant nearby instead. We were very happy though...we hadn't been there in a long time, and this is a true old-fashioned Brooklyn Italian restaurant! So instead of pizza, I had stuffed shells covered with melted mozzarella, DH had veal rollatine with marsala sauce, and the boys shared a nice plate of ravioli. We also had delicious caesar salad (theirs is the best, homemade dressing!), and broccoli with garlic and olive oil. We had a great dinner so we weren't sad about not getting pizza!

The pizza slices are huge in NY. We fold our slices of pizza to eat them! Yes, we have some fantastic Italian restaurants here. There is one which is in Queens (but not far from where we live in Brooklyn...about 15-20 minutes away), that serves the best Italian seafood dishes!

OK, enough of this from me...sounds like I am starting to review NY Italian restaurants over here!! :lmao:

I loved your review of The Wave. We don't have an ADR there for our July trip but maybe we will be free for lunch one day and see if we call and get in. If not, on the next trip for sure!

OMG, I just have to share one more thing with you about NY restaurants...we went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art yesterday, there were 14 of us altogether, and then we ate at this diner called Big Daddy's and OMG, it was amazing!!! I took home 2 of these huge cupcakes they make there from scratch...one s'mores flavor and the other is called half-baked (chocolate AND vanilla cake, covered in fudge icing, brownie and blondie pieces, chocolate chunks)...we still have half of each left...only my little one and I ate some last night! (I call him my "cupcake" so he was all excited!! :)) And the food was awesome too. If you are ever in NYC I highly recommend that place! It has the feel of a 1950s diner, very cute!!

OK, I'm done now...you know you just can't finish this thread! Come on, think of something else you can say...any snacks you would like to share with us? ;)

Okay, cuz you just got me hungry ALL over again, and I just finished my lunch about an hour ago...I'm supposed to go to the gym in about half an hour, but how the Heck am I gonna go now with pasta dishes and amazing cupcakes on my mind!?!?! :scared1: And with the wedding coming up this Saturday, you KNOW I shouldn't be eating that right now! :rotfl:

Seriously though, I'm going to have to convince my bro and sis in law to go to NYC when we're in PA this summer!!! She's a dessert fiend too, so all I'm gonna have to say is cupca- and we're there! :lmao:

Speaking of a 50's diner, last weekend we were at a Chili cook off that we always go to...well my mom's TOTALLY into 50's garb (born in the 50's so of course she has to like that time period), and I told her about this old railroad car that was turned into a diner...BEST hamburgers and malts ever! She loved the place!!! Rock n Roll diner is what it's called...so cute! I love themed restaurants! That's probably why I love Disney Restaurants so much!

Anyways, I'm not really done with my thread...I still need to do a price breakdown and say which were my favs!! So no worries..I'll still be here! :yay: Not sure if that's a good thing, or a bad thing to some people! :rotfl:
