DH and I are booked for a "just us" trip in September, staying at BWV. I have a critical work meeting during the week we're there, but was going to manage it remotely. They've now made it an in-person meeting, on day 6 of our 9 day trip. My boss is likely to say I can't miss being there. Ugh.

I've moved hotel reservations within the 7-month window before by picking up random days here and there, with a combination of wait listing and stalking. It's a pain in the butt, but doable. My recollection is, I cancel the current ressie, the points go back into this use year, I pick up the nights I need as they become available, then call Member Services to link them all together into one reservation. Have I got that right? Luckily, we want a 1BR, not a studio, so I'm hopeful I'll be able to piece the week together without having to move rooms.

My biggest problem may be that I've already purchased tickets, both park and MNSSHP. I know that was not good planning, as they're not transferrable. But I was excited for the trip, and wanted to spread out the spending. Since I want to move the dates, not cancel and get my money back, will they allow that?

TIA!

You can definitely simply modify the park tickets to your new date

For MNSSHP, give them a call….many have had success getting Disney to allow you to shift the date and pay any difference…no refund if it’s less

Also, if you don’t end up using them, the value will always be there for a future special event.

That sucks that work got in the way! Most vacations - anywhere - require 6-12 months planning so you are biting the bullet for work.

As Sandy mentioned, you should be able to make the tickets work and certainly there is no loss of value. I stalk all day if I need to change dates, but often find what I want in the wee hours of the morning and often on the weekends. Just when you are about to give up...there it is!

Good luck and I hope your boss appreciates you!

Thanks, very reassuring info!

She (my boss) is fantastic. I don't think I did the best job with my original post. I feel I need to be at the meeting. It involves a vendor that's at an inflection point this year for a mission-critical service they provide us. I wouldn't rearrange a vacation, nor would my boss ask me to, for very much. This meeting falls in the "very much" category.

Off to go stalking the DVC website! Thanks again for the help!!

So, (like unused WDW tickets), if you cannot go to a special event/party, you can have value stored for future ticket purchase? I thought special events were more use/lose?

Unless it has changed, yes. The value will be there! Keep the ticket information though.

That is what we were told to do last year when one person could not go.
