Yup today I have to call the oral surgeon. Make my appointment for 4 surgical extractions....lovely.....

I went yesterday and had the last of my fillings done, now its just the extractions and then onto the partial.

Im going to make the appointment for March when we're on spring break at school, so I dont have to miss any classes. Last time I had 2 wisdom teeth extracted I was in wicked pain for the first 2-3 days, and it took about a week before I could use my jaw without pain.

I guess i just need to look on the bright side, after this, I will have nothing left to do except the partial....and that will have to wait a couple months for healing of my gums.

Oh almost forgot- scalling...gotta have my teeth under my gums sandblasted too, or so they think Im going to. If they really wanted me to, they would not have described it to me....because after hearing what they do, there is no way in the world I'm getting it done..

When you get teeth extracted eat lots of protein. Protein helps you body heal faster. The oral surgeon had me go to the deli and get roast beef slice paper thin for DH to eat after his 4 wisdom teeth were extracted. One they had to smash to remove. The OS said to shred it into small pieces that can just be swollowed and then make DH eat them. All he had to do was used his fingers (for safety) and put them in his mouth and swallow. He recovered very fast. Plus the OS gave him a special ice pack that he could sleep with. Now swelling either. Hope your extractions don't cause you much problems.

:flower3: good luck, I had all four of my wisdom teeth out at the same time...i didn't think i'd need the pain med.'s but i took them.... :worship: you'll be glad when it's all over.... :hyper:

This is something I must have done, but have been putting it off for *ahem* aWHILE now! Here is a  for you and maybe you will encourage me (don't hold your breath)! ;)

My oral surgeon told me to eat cold things on the first day, pudding, ice cream, jello, cottage cheese and I should eat a little once an hour. The cold will help with the swelling on the inside of your mouth and if you eat frequently it will help you heal. They said not to eat hot things until the second day. Good Luck!

Good luck!! I just had all four of my wisdom teeth taken out two weeks ago. I only took the pain meds for the first day after that they made me sick. :( But the teeth bothered me so much before I had them out I didn't care about the pain afterwards.
