Ugh!!! Can I switch my disney guide??

My guide is very business like. I get the usual mailings from her like everyone else, but I don't expect her to be anything more than a sales person. I added on 30 BW points last year, and though there were 900 points in the system for my use year one day, they were gone the next, so I ended up on the wait list and three weeks went by. Didn't matter to me. I wasn't in a position to use them. Perhaps a newer guide wanted to nail down the sale immediately because of the way they are compensated.

I suspect the guides are all pretty busy right now with folks trying to add on before the price increase.

Can I ask how you came to wanting exactly 50 points for your add-on? If you are planning on 5 weeknights even in the lowest season, you would need 110 points every other year. Depending on the type of accommodations you are wanting, I would take your preferred travel dates and accommodations size, and divide the total number by 2 if you want an every other year reservation at BWV. Five weeknights in a 1 bedroom in January would be 110 points. That means you should be buying 55 points instead of 50.

Well, I don't intend to stay at BWV for everytrip so, the plan is to go every other year or so. The 50pts work for us to be able to make a ressie @ 11mos for a full stay five night stay in a std room ...baby steps ;) The BWV is so much more for me than the room...

So, How did your call go today?:thumbsup2

Would you believe he left me TWO vm's today while I was at work???:rotfl: I called him back and left a msg as I thought he was gone for the day and guess what? He called me right back! He was working late today as he is going to be off the next couple of days! He took my cc info and said that I would most likely be on a waiting list but would let me know when the points are mine. I have to admit, he sure was nice today. I guess I did catch him at a bad time when I originally called. Now, it's just a matter of time. At first, I thought I could wait patiently for my points to come in but, now I'm anxious to plan my first trip HOME.. :yay:

I am so glad this has worked out for you!:dance3:

I have found it very difficult to get hold of my guide the past week. I've left voice mails and don't get called back. I finally spoke to the main sales desk and they said they are being slammed right now as folks try to do add-ons before the price increase. Oh well..

Thanks for "listening". YOu know he wasn't that disinterested last year when he gave us the tour on site!!!!

That is so disappointing to see. We have friends who own at West Gate and want to get out so bad. They have so many issues I couldn't get into them but the only time they get any attention is when west gate wants to sell them something. They don't even know who or if they have a dedicated person for them.

On our last trip we had a voice mail message from our rep Jone welcoming us home. We have always been in contact with Jone and it was always nice to see her name on all the stuff they mail us throughout the year.

I always got some satisfaction hearing stories about other timeshare places that treat the prospects like gold and there customers like crap because it assures me I made the right choice with DVC even though other places may be cheaper.

On our last visit we went to see Jone. We hadn't seen her face to face since we had our meeting aboard the Disney Magic in 2000. It was a great feeling to see her again and she really made us feel special. Our friends at West Gate never get that treatment.

I left a message for our guide concerning an add on over a week ago. The nice lady who answered the phone said he'd get back to me within 3 days. Never heard back from him.
