UG and first week of Jan.--kids still out of school?

The school systems that have Year round schools in our area seem to mostly be going back on the 9th. Most other school systems are going back on the 4th

DH couldn't get the week i wanted off, so now we're going the last week of Jan instead! I can't find that ANYTHING is going on then! Yay1

I think much of Texas is out until Jan. 9 - I know we are in a suburb south of Houston. We'll be at Disneyland, and I expect that there would be many families who spend XMAS with family, and then vacation that week after New Years. This is the first time I've seen the schools here return this late - I think it's just due to how XMAS falls during the week.
