Uber

Hi

I used Uber when I went to London and was astounded at the price difference from a black cab and just wondered if they operated in and around Disney/Universal etc.

Last time I went we used the usual yellow cabs to get from our Disney hotel to the Universal parks but just wondered if anyone had experience of simply calling an Uber or whether Disney had a block on that?

Uber and Lyft operate round Orlando. Disney tend to 'recommend' Lyft *, possibly because their MinnieVans (?) are on the Lyft system.
In practice all the rides I took were using both Lyft and Uber anyway, so it probably makes little difference which you use.

( * I wanted to go to non-Disney places and asked a CM at the resort entrance about it. There were yellow cabs there but I balked a bit at the price and the CM then recommended and actually helped me to install the Lyft app and get going.)

Yep, I used Lyft in 2019 to go between French Quarter and various off-site places. The experience was mostly positive though had one rogue driver drive off and go in the oposite direction after they'd been allocated to me - so cancelled and got another one. There are specific ride-share (a bit of a misnomer that!) pick up/drop off points at all the parks near the entrances. I don't think there was a specific place at the hotel, it just arrived outside the front entrance.

Yes definitely used Uber at the start of 2020 to get to and from MK

I think that may be a side effect of them being on Lyft and Uber. A 'better' ride gets offered on the other platform and yours is toast
