Traveling from WDW to MCO airport on a thursday morning (Flight leaves at 1 PM). All the taxi services are expensive & we are not sure about reliability. Since there are only 4 of us (3 adults, 1 child, plus 4 suitcases & carry ons) I think we could fit in a large SUV. Any suggestions as to which service is better? I don't know what the traffic is like in the morning from the WDW resort to MCO (I am guessing we should leave around 9 AM to be safe...). THANKS!

Most drivers are part of both. Personally, I use LYFT because (at least up to April) I get SkyMiles for Delta if I use my credit card. Whenever I've checked both they're both in the same ballpark as far as cost goes. I'm more concerned with pickup time. The bigger the car, the more you will pay - but it's really not all that bad and it is efficient and fast. Time wise, it's in the area of 30 to 40 minutes depending on where you're going. It's hard to predict traffic AND there's ongoing construction. Generally, I give myself about 2.5 hours to get to MCO - sometimes 3 depending on time of day.

2.5- 3 hours just to get from WDW to MCO? Is the morning rush hour really that bad?

Great so you think we can leave at 9-9:30 AM from Boardwalk and get to MCO okay by 1 PM on a weekday?
Having made that trip many times (not BW, but BC, which is similar), 9:30AM would be plenty of time. Even if there's traffic (which there will be), you'll be at MCO by 10:15, almost 3 hours before your flight. If it were us, and the flight is domestic, we'd look for a 9:45AM pickup. But since Uber/Lyft pickup times cannot always be that precise, 9:30 might be best. Then if your ride is delayed, you still have plenty of time for airport, checked bags, and security.
