Uber or taxi from The Garland hotel to Universal Studios

Anyone have any idea what the cost would be for Uber or a taxi to Universal Studios from The Garland hotel? The free shuttle the Garland offers starts at 8am and if we buy Universal tickets from the Universal website we get i an hour early which means 8am. Thinking of taking taxi or Uber earlier and then taking shuttle back to hotel but not sure if that would be more economical than driving myself and paying for parking.

It's not even a mile and a half, I doubt you'd go much over the minimum.

Thanks...I knew it was close. Probably cheaper to take a taxi that to drive and park.

Thanks! We stayed at The Garland a couple of years ago and liked it. I know it is a gated parking area, do you know if taxi or uber can get into hotel lot? Maybe they can get up to door, like to check in. I just remember there was a gate and we had to swipe our room key?

I believe that the overnight parking is gated, but the circle entry is not. So you may have to meet them outside the lobby as opposed to one of the other lots which may be closer to your particular room. Enjoy!

Thanks...I think this is the best plan and ride the free trolley back to the Garland at the end of the night. Do you know if the taxi can drive right up to the entrance of Universal or are they stopped somewhere? Seems like I remember taxis lined up right outside park by the giant globe thing last time we were there.

I believe they can drive close to the entrance but there was quite a lot of reconfiguration going on when I was there this winter so I'm not sure of the current state. Maybe you could google a report map to see if it is marked? Sorry!
