We are 4 adults and need to get from Port of Miami to the National Car Rental at Miami airport after our cruise in November.

I guess it might be too early to tell, but was it hard to get an Uber at Port around 9:00 am (pre Covid) or should we look for a car service and if so....recommendations????

No. easy peasy. There is a waiting lot there with probably more than 100 Uber/Lyft vehicles waiting. There are also hundreds of cabs waiting in several lots.

It's also an easy ride. It takes longer to get OUT of PortMiami than it does to drive to the airport! The route out of the port is super-twisted, but don't worry -- the driver is not lost! A madman or serious drunk designed the road out! But once you hit the tunnel, only a 15-20 minute ride, all expressway.

The problem you may have, however, is luggage. With the Covid restrictions in place, 4 people will require an XL and nobody is supposed to sit in the front passenger seat. So two people in the second row, two in the third. Depending on the vehicle you get, that may or may not work.

There are lots of options. There are numerous shuttle services, and many of them drive full-sized vans towing a trailer for the luggage. There are also bus shuttles with plenty of room for luggage.

Just Google PortMiami-MIA shuttles and you'll get plenty of options.

Thank you! We can always split up and take 2 Ubers/Lyfts if necessary. Now that our cruise is actually going to happen, just wanted to close the loop on the final piece. We are renting a car at National at the airport and driving to Orlando to WDW.

You won't have any problems getting a ride. Just be sure to put the Rental Car Center at MIA as your destination -- not the airport itself. The actual address of the Rental Car Center is 3900 NW 25 Street, Miami and the app will show you several variations, some of which are different places.

I would order an XL first and see if you can all fit. If not, order an additional X. Each X will be about $20, but XL is only about $30.

Thank you so very much!! This is excellent information!! I will definitely put the Rental Car Center as the destination.
