Hi, my flight from London to MCO has been cancelled but I am booked on a flight to Tampa instead. I have a car hired from MCO through Alamo but unfortunately they can’t swap the reservation over to allow pick up from Tampa rather than MCO.
Is it possible to Uber or Lyft from Tampa Airport to MCO? Does anyone know the approximate cost? Hopefully we will arrive around 16.00 EST today. Thank you.

Alamo want me to make a completely new reservation and charge another $200 for pick up Tampa, redelivery MCO and my MCO 3 week reservation is non refundable. Cheapest option may be a one day reservation pick up Tampa redeliver MCO a few hours later but I suspect this will be the same cost as Uber/Lyft. Just curious as to whether is will be possible to get an Uber/Lyft for the Tampa/MCO journey. Interestingly Alamo won’t confirm that they have card available at MCO.

The non-refundable is going to hurt you. Check at other rental places for a one day rental.

ETA: I just checked on Travelocity for pickup at 4:30p today from TPA and returning at 7:30p today at MCO and saw a bunch for just over $50. Alamo, Thrifty, Dollar, and Enterprise.

Flight was changed due to Dorian. Ask Alamo for accommodation. You need to call the actual location, not the 800 number.
Alamo is waiving drop fees.

Go to Alamo when you arrive in Tampa. Alamo is making accommodations for customers affected by Dorian. Good chance they wont even have a car for you in MCO. Customers with cancelled flights are extended their rentals Tell alamo you want your original rate, pick up at Tampa with a drop off at MCO

In addition to @Lewisc's advice - make a fully cancellable, one day reservation from any other agency at TPA. That way, if Alamo won't cooperate, you still have a car to get to MCO.

Unless I'm misreading something the OP is currently in the air. MCO isn't open for flights until at least noon. Virtually all departing flights today are cancelled. That suggests cars won't be returned on time. An Uber, or one way rental, to MCO is a waste of time if there isn't a car available. An Alamo agent at Tampa is far more likely to be able to help then an Alamo rep on an 800 line somewhere in the world.

I'd look for a car at Tampa. A car you'll either keep for your entire a trip. or Assurance from Alamo you can swap the car out at a particular location at a particular time. Might be MCO. Might be the CCC. Alamo should honor your reservation with a pickup at Tampa

This is irregular operations. Alamo should work with you. Don't be argumentative. Ask for help. If the rep can't offer help politely ask fo talk to someone who has the ability to help you. You want a car large enough for your needs.
