I have accumulated a lot of points from different programs (E-Rewards, Fetch, Swagbucks...) and I can redeem them for over $150 in Uber GC's. I am a pretty frugal person so the bus transportation (FREE) has worked just fine and I have no problem using it. That being said, I am planning a trip in October which will most-likely be my dad's final trip to WDW (he said that in 2020 too, but here we are:love:) and we are staying at AKV. My BFF is coming along too and she will be 3 months post-shoulder surgery (rotator cuff repair) so I would l like to make things as easy as possible.

We are already planning to use Uber to get to WL for a fishing excursion and to FW for the Hoop-De-Doo but other than that, we don't have specific plans to use it. I am assuming that even using the Uber Comfort option, I will still have about half of the "free" funds left over. Since I do not have a use for Uber at home, I would like to try and use it up on the trip. We already have towncar transportation to/from the airport so that's not an option.

If I use Uber to/from the parks (not MK), where are the drop-off points? Is it a shorter walk from the bus stop? If we are just going to end up walking a longer distance by taking Uber than if we rode the bus, I do not see a benefit to it, even if it is "free". I love the idea of being in a private vehicle that arrives on my schedule, but I do not want to lengthen our walks. We are already staying at Kidani....we WILL get our steps in:rotfl:.

I'm thinking more about using it for transport TO the parks since waiting for that bus is the worst. We always seem to be going to the park that has the last bus (stupid park reservations....can't just decide to take the first park bus that arrives:headache:) or we arrive just as the bus is pulling away. The idea of requesting an Uber before we leave the room and having it pull up as we walk out the front door sounds amazing.

Any input would be appreciated:flower3:

Also - can you redeem your points for Lyft gift cards, or just Uber gift cards?

The reason I ask is that you can use Lyft for MinnieVans. A MinnieVan will take you directly to the Magic Kingdom rather than Transportation & Ticket Center.

At DHS the rideshare dropoff is at one of the bus stop slots. I believe the AKL bus may be in a closer loop, but I don’t think there is so much difference that it would matter, especially when you consider the comfort of a ride share over standing on a crowded bus.

At Epcot, dropoff is also near the buses, but I think the AKL bus is a little closer there too. Again, not so big a difference when you consider comfort for the ride.

I haven’t taken a rideshare to AK, but I would assume that dropoff is about the same distance to the entrance gates as the buses as well.

I think your plan sounds like a good one. The buses can be so busy in the morning and with two people who are in need of a little extra TLC, taking a ride share to the parks will be a great way to start the day.

No, unfortunately it's just Uber....
BUT, I do have free Amazon cards that I think I can use to buy Lyft gift cards. I usually use my Amazon cards to make a grocery order. I have over $100 in Amazon so I might use $25 towards a Lyft card. We want to use MV's to get to/from HDD and that's going to run us about $100.

Remember if you use Uber for Hoop Dee Doo you will have to take internal bus from front of campground to Hoop and back to front to get your Uber back. Only Minnie Van's and busses allowed to stop/park near Hoop. You could walk it but it about a mile walk.
