Uber drop off at TTC...still holding until 30 minutes before park opening?

I have read several sources that state, since covid re-openings, they are not allowing uber/lyft drivers to drop off at TTC more than 30 minutes before park opening.

Has this changed since they are back to a "normal" rope drop procedure at MK? Was this ever enforced? Anybody have recent experience with rideshare and getting dropped off an hour before park opening?

Good question. I’m bumping this because I’m curious as well.

And crickets....lol! We are headed to MK on Thursday and plan on using rideshare. Going to request about 7:15AM for a 9AM opening from Bonnet Creek. I will report back for the 3 of us who are interested! :earboy2:
Have a wonderful time, and thanks for taking one for the team :)
I’m now scared of surge pricing. I was previously looking during the day for Uber/Lyft prices and they were reasonable. Happened to check during morning rush and the prices were like 2-3 times the regular pricing. Checked again tonight at park closing and they were almost 4x middle of the day pricing 😱. Like over $40 for a three person ride and over $70 for a five person. But if I switch from TTC to contemporary for pickup, the prices are less than half that amount. Not sure if rideshare can pick up from the hotels at night since they’re not allowed to drop off in the morning.

Its no issue picking up from the Contemporary...they have to let rideshares in for pickup for hotel guests. Its just the dropoff thats the issue.

From what I have seen reported, the surge pricing doesnt last TOO long, maybe 15 minutes? I have also seen others report that Mears comes in cheaper during surge. I checked the pricing and a pickup at Bonnet Creek and drop off at Magic Kingdom would be a flat $25 for "luxury car" (looks like a basic sedan) and includes tax. Thats my go-to plan if I hit crazy surge pricing.

You can just go to mears page and follow the reservation tab and it will walk you through.

Thank you for all of this info! Mears is definitely the way to go! We have six people so would have to take two uber/Lyft rides since the limit is five, so this will save us so much money.

Not sure if it was a fluke last night or what, but the surge pricing went on for a good hour and a half after MK closed at 10 PM. I was checking constantly wondering how long we could get away with just taking our time getting out of the park after closing, and at 11:20 pm it was still ridiculous, but only for MK. Contemporary pickup was normal pricing.

So when a rideshare driver gets to the security gate at a resort they don’t ask them who they’re picking up and check to see if it’s someone with a dining or hotel reservation? That’s so good to know.

Thanks again!

Umm, if there is surge pricing, there are still good old fashioned Taxis that will be cheaper. Seriously, Taxis have never been super expensive at Disney World

So updating...Uber got through drop off gate at 730 with no line and no holdup. There are maybe 5 families ahead of us as we wait for them to open the monorails and security up.
Yay! What time did the monorail and security end up opening? Hope you are having a great day!

Let us line up for security about 7:55, went thru right at 8, then held to load monorail until 810. Took off at 8:15. Got to the parks and there were already lined up at the touchpoints but literally opened them up the moment the monorail arrived. Took less than 5 minutes to scan in.
