U.S. Online Sellers/Dealers US1

I know a lot of you buy from B&H, & Adorama, among others for online equipment. Has anyone specifically bought from US1, and if so what was your experience? I also have been trying to find out if US1 is an authorized Canon dealer. If not, how do they back up the warranty that comes with the camera? I've seen several people on other forums say that they have bought cameras with no hassle through that dealer, but that upon arrival it comes in a "kit" box when it is only the body. Is that an issue? Any help would be great.

I'm finding that US1 is listed as being owned by Photomania...which is an authorized Canon dealer. I also found that US1 was listed as a place "not to buy from" on a flickr list. The camera is already purchased and has been used since late last year, I want to buy it from the original owner but am just trying to be careful. If by chance something did happen it supposed to be under warranty until November of this year.

You might also check to see if the warranty would even transfer to you. I believe that many consumer product warranties are for the original owner only and do not transfer with a third party sale.

As UK said, the factory warranty for Canon, and most major manufacturers, is limited to the original owner only and is not transferable. If you need warranty work, you will need to send Canon a copy of the original purchase receipt showing that you purchased it new from an authorized dealer in order for Canon to honor the warranty for repair. If you purchased it from the original owner, or as a used camera from the US1, then at most the "warranty" you would have is the 30 day warranty that most used equipment dealers will give you
