Hi Everyone!
We are planning a possible first trip to DL at the end of April 2016. We really enjoy our late nights at WDW. I was just reading somewhere that DL closes at 8pm on weeknights in April, is that true? If so I don't believe we would go at that time of year. We would be going on a Sunday, leaving on a Saturday. Any help on this would be appreciated, as it is kind of a big deal to us! I sure wouldn't want to plan a huge trip out there, only to find out the parks are only open until 8! :)

Most likely DL will be open to 9pm and DCA until 8pm. The weekends will have DL open until 12 and DCA until 11p approx.

I never realized MK was open until 1am! That is crazy and would be so much fun. The other WDW Parks have hours in line with California.

Anyone know typical hours for second week of May? I will have to find the above mentioned links, (thanks for sharing those), just checking if anyone knows offhand. I'm a little worried about trying to coordinate all the early closings at night, days there will or won't be fireworks, or paint the night, fantasmic, or whatever various shows and such that are not constants but vary according to season and month. I'm so used to WDW!

We have been lucky enough to visit during February and May, and both months are considered the "off season". During the week, I believe Disneyland and DCA both closed at 8pm. On the weekends, including Friday, the hours were a bit longer.

Honestly, we were just fine ending the day that early because we had done plenty and had a good full day and we knew we would be back for more the next day.

If it was a 1 day trip, I would probably want longer hours just to enjoy as much as possible.

But leaving the parks at 8 left plenty of time to enjoy the pool one night, relax and watch a movie one night, get dinner before the restaurants in Downtown Disney and outside the parks closed, and leave plenty of time for sleep so we felt ready and excited to go again. Plus, if you get a 3 day or longer park Hopper ticket, you get one early entry to Disneyland on Tuesday or Thursday morning. It's only an hour early and only Fantasyland and Tomorrowland are open, but you can save some of those popular rides for your Early Entry day and spend other mornings elsewhere, like on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad!!

The only downside to the Off Season is that they schedule more maintenence and there are usually a few good attractions down in each park.

Otherwise, we loved it, even with the early closing times! The crowds were low, we had awesome California sunshine, and lodging was affordable.

Have fun planning!

Thanks for responding and the fun planning wishes! Definitely getting excited! Hmm, I didn't think May would be considered off season! I mean, in a few short weeks it's June! We were planning on going Mon, May 9th - til Sun, May 15th. I thought about going the following week, May 16 - 22, but if they do the 24 hr day again that same weekend, we were a little worried about that timing. We went this year at WDW, but heard at DL it was crazy! ( Otoh, Might be fun to say we did both, lol!) Maybe we could go the last week of May, if parks are open a little later. We are definitely nights owls, so worry we'll get cut off early! Mornings aren't our best time though we'll really have to make the effort to be up earlier! So, we're crowds really pretty good for the most part for May? I called on a whim last night and booked a room at Tropicana with a pretty good deal, at $109 per night(+ tax) which seems pretty good. Depending on what else comes up, I'll have to see if we stay there or move, but DD24 wants to stay there if we can't do the DL resorts. Guess I have more investigating and figuring things out, lol! Thanks, ADLFAN!
