Typical February WDW Discounts?

I've looked around and in one or two places I've seen that Free Dining has been offered from October to March in the past, presumably with blackout dates, and it got me wondering if there were any typical discounts, offers, or promotions for early February in Walt Disney World, whether free dining or a room discount or anything like that. It would certainly help me plan better. I'm still a newbie to this and I'm not sure how to phrase my search term to get the result I'm looking for.

TIA!

We went this past Feb - we got Free dining, but they were also offering discounts on rooms, deeper discounts the higher you went. I had them calculate both ways, and FD was a better deal for me. (we stayed at a Deluxe, and needed 40% off to make that a better deal. They were only offering 30% off at the time).

Here is a site with the historical discounts:

Should give you an idea of what to expect and when. Also remember that if you book now, you can "reserve" your room and apply discounts later. But when those discounts are applied, you are essentially losing any previously booked discounts.

Also, beware in Feb, the weather is very unpredictable. We went in Jan 2010, and it was rainy, wet, and downright cold. A few things were even non-operational because of the cold. (the Indiana Jones Stunt Show broke because of the cold and was down all week). It snowed on our first night there! We wore jeans and winter coats, hats, and gloves all week. Thank goodness we brought them along with us... gloves (the cheapy magic stretchy kind) were almost $10 a pair and were sold out most places. People were resorting to wear those huge Mickey hands, because it's all they could find! There were also lots of Goofy hats because they offered the most coverage from the cold.

This past Feb, we went and it was in the 70's every day. Crowds were low, but many rides were down for maintenance. Jan-March is the normal maintenance time, so it's to be expected. Here's a refurb/maintenance schedule that's updated as info is available:

ETA: Also beware that while Feb in general is non-peak/low crowds, certain times of the month are very crowded. President's Day Weekend is a very busy time, and things pick back up at the end of the month for the Princess Half Marathon. Just an FYI. There are plenty of crowd calendars out there that will tell you roughly the same thing.

Hope this helps.

Thanks so much for the help! I think I will reserve the room soon and apply later discounts... as soon as they open up Feb 2013 dates.

I am concerned about the temps in February, but I'm prepared for variability. What can you do? I can handle cold so much better than I can handle heat. :scared:
