My family (me, my wife, and our 21-month-old daughter) is considering heading to the World. Could someone give me a general idea of what a * would cost? I'm just looking for a general ballpark figure so I can determine if it's even worth pursuing the idea of renting further.

Most DVCers probably don't know the cash rates off the top of their heads, but if you go to Mousesavers.com she has all the cash rates for villas listed. That's easier than trying to price it out on the Disney site.

Edited: Sorry I didn't understand that you were looking for points, I thought you were looking for the cash prices as a comparison!

Thank you, this mousesavers is very helpful for my planning.

there are point charts linked in the top right hand corner of the screen.

calculate the points per night (usually a little cheaper on sunday thru thursday) and multiply by the rental rate per pt on the rent/trade board (usually $10-13 per pt).

Thanks everyone. I was looking for the approximate dollar amount, but the points also really help. Then I can figure out if it's worth pursuing it. The prices actually seem pretty reasonable, especially compared to the costs for deluxe rooms.

yes - just be aware that you are dealing with an individual so there are tradeoffs. for example, you might not be able to cancel and get a refund.
