Heading to Orlando in two weeks and we will be going to either Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon but I can't decide which! It's my girlfriend and I, both in our 20s and she already said there's no way she would go on Summit Plummit. Is Blizzard Beach therefor a useless option?

I never do Summit Plummit or the one next to it, and I love BB!

Well, I've never been to Typhoon Lagoon, but we've been to Blizzard Beach three times and we LOVE it! We don't go on Summit Plummet and still love it. We do Slusher Gusher and everything else. It's SO fun!

I like BB better, but it is mostly because of Summit Plummet! TL probably has more to do outside of that one. It also has a big slide (Humunga Cowabunga) but it is not as big as Summit Plummet. Plus, the Shark Reef is pretty cool.

I prefer BB, though both are good. With that said, I'm always with my daughter and so I don't do any of the adult slides.

And I'm also reading a few of the slides at BB are down for maintenance..? Making my decision easier there

I highly recommend Typhoon Lagoon! I love it there! The wave pool is awesome!! If you have younger kids, I would maybe do blizzard beach because the wave pool's waves might be too big for younger kids but if you have older kids or just adults, we prefer typhoon lagoon SO much more!

BB for us, more things to do, we went to TL in 2014 and my girls only rode one slide, but its really personal preference on what you enjoy.. There are some youtube videos out there, you may want to look at those

TL has a great wave pool

We really loved Typhoon Lagoon. The BB theming just doesn't do it for me. There was plenty for all of us (4 & 7 yo boys and 2 adults) to do. The wave pool was pretty crazy, but right next to it was a small slide that both boys enjoyed immensely. Crush n Gusher was really fun. The little kids area was lots of fun too. We have a lot of waterparks nearby and go to a waterpark resort (Wisconsin Dells) every year. TL was certainly impressive. Was is as good as Noah's Ark in WI Dells? No. Did we have a wonderful time? Yes. If it's a hot day, and you like waterparks, I don't think you can go wrong with either one.

Typhoon Lagoon:
Awesome: Snorkeling with the Sharks. That is a must do!!!
Fun: Watching people stand in the wave pool in 2 foot water thinking they are safe from the waves....this is not true, you will get knocked on your behind in that depth. Either go deep or really shallow. We like to play the "Count the Sunglasses" game after the first few waves...

Blizzard Beach:
Awesome: The family raft slide. Just so cool to experience with the kids. Summit Plummet, Intense, but worth it. Blink and it's over. The racing slides against my kids. Also, Turkey legs are sold here, and as a tip, you can convert part of your meal plan to get them. We used a QS and got a side and drink to go with it. Another time, they let us use one of the snack credits for a turkey leg.
Not so Fun: The slide next to Summit Plummet. I got airborne and got the nastiest bruise on my rear I have ever had. Ouch....

That being said, we like Typhoon better for the Shark Reef, but you can't go wrong at either one.

I can't speak to BB, but we enjoyed TL. We're not big water slide type people and I'm not a super strong swimmer so we enjoyed the lazy river and wave pool at TL and that's why we opted to go there.

We've been to each one 4 or 5 times over the past year. They've each got their pros and cons, though since you don't have kids, it may be different for you. Plenty to do at BB besides Summit Plummet. Lazy River is fun, and there are a number of smaller slides to do there, if she'll do them...Teamboat Springs is a fun family size tube ride, Snow Stormers is fun, Tobbagin Racers is really cool (sliding belly first on mats). Their large pool is much calmer than TL pool. BB has more to do for younger kids, though that won't apply for you.

TL has some really cool slides. She may like Crush 'n' Gusher and the other ones around it. They're not huge drops, but they're really fun...you're in an inner tube and water jets will push you up a small hill and over the next crest. The wave pool there is nuts. The waves are massive and will catch you off guard if you aren't ready for it. It also has other smaller slides and a family size tube ride also.

Frankly, you'll have fun at either one. Get there early, it gets crowded fast.

TL is a no brainer to me!! The Crush and Gusher and pool make it well worth the time!! It is my happy place!!

The way I decided was:

TL
-----
-more tube slides vs body slides
-wave pool
-shark reef

BB
-----
-more body slides vs tube slides
-floating pool
-better family slide

Since I personally prefer tube slides and my brother loves giant wave pools we went with TL. Summit Plummet is out but check out the other slides and go with the park that has the most that appeal to you.

Do both parks allow tubes in the wave pool, or is that just a BB thing?

We have been to both numerous times. My kids absolute favorite ride in any amusement park, be it waterpark or regular, is Summit Plummet. When it was closed in September, we opted to do Typhoon Lagoon twice and really enjoyed it. The wave pool is awesome (try body surfing the big wave) and the shark pool is fantastic. I also prefer the theming better at TL (more tropical). We also branched out and tried Aquatica, which though not as nicely themed as a Disney waterpark, my boys really enjoyed the drop slides, the one where the floor drops out from under you, and hardly any crowds. So my answer would be, if you're not going to do Summit Plummet, I would go to Typhoon Lagoon.

Another vote for Typhoon Lagoon from me! SP is a no go for me too! DH and I loooooove shark reef and the crush n gusher at TL which puts it ahead of BB in our books. Both are lots of fun though!

I think it depends on the water park experience you are looking for. With Typhoon Lagoon I get a more relaxing vibe from it. It is an older park and the slides are not as big or fast as other water parks. IMO it is one of the best themed Disney parks. The large wave pool is great and the lazy river is the best. It is a great park to relax at.

Blizzard Beach has faster slides and seems to be more action focused. This could also just be due to the theming: island vs ski resort.

Either one you will have fun at, but for me I prefer Typhoon Lagoon. After spending days at the parks, the relaxing nature of Typhoon Lagoon is more appealing to me.
