Typhoon Lagoon Cabana Questions

Thinking about renting a cabana at TL in July. Just had a few questions:

1. If it starts to rain and the slides close, do we have to leave the park or can we just wait it out in the cabana?

2. Do we need to go to one of the restaurants for lunch or can we order and have it delivered to cabana?

Most (if not all) of the cabanas at TL are weather safe structures. You (and your stuff) are going to get wet if it’s really blowing, but they are lightning safe. This is different than the ones at BB where most are not lightning safe.

There is a cabana food menu you can order from via the attendant. I’ve had experiences where they only let you order from that menu, and other ones where the attendant offered to get things from the restaurants too (YMMV).

One of the best parts of a cabana in the summer in Orlando is that there’s almost always a passing afternoon storm, and you can wait it out in the cabana (staying relatively dry). The best part is that your stuff stays dry too! We just relax, have a drink or snack and the storm usually passes quickly. Storms help clear guests from the park and shorten the lines.

We’ve had the same experience as GADisneyDad. Sometimes they are wiling to go anywhere and pick up something, and sometimes only what is on the menu. If you don’t want to wait in lines, there are quite a few options on the cabana menu to choose from.

The cabana's are great!

We have been getting one for the last 5 years now, well worth it for us as we are getting older.

You are allowed to stay in your cabana. They give you a waterproof bag to put your goodies in the lock box, as that is not water proof.

We have had the same experience as the above posters on food. As there is just two of us now, they are more likely to go get food from a different area that is not on the menu. I love their fried shrimp basket!!

We love the Cabana's in the surf pool area. The surf pool is our favorite spot, we can spend all day there.
