Types of rooms at DL available?

We are a family of 5, made up of us adults, DD16, DD9 and DS9. I know the accomadations of 2 Q beeds and 1 sleeper sofa would work for us at the DL hotels. Just curious if there are larger rooms available to allow us to spread out just a little more. Would that be what are called suites? How are they layed out?

each DLR hotel would be different in layout, but i think GC is the only one where you would need a suite for 5. I think DH and PP can accomadate in a normal room with the sleeper sofa.

I'm not sure if this is what you are after or not, but when my five-year old turned three, I wanted to take my parents with us to Disneyland and stay for several nights. My parents had not seen California Adventure yet, and had always taken my sister and I to DL at least once a year growing up--even when money was tight.

I called the Grand Californian and asked about ajoining rooms and I was told there were about 36 (I think this was the number) suites. It was not cheap--but had a wonderful view and plenty of room for everyone to have a good amount of space. For this special time, and to treat my parents, it was well worth it.
