Tyler's Wish Trip - Nov. 20-25, 2009 / Dream Factory

I am so happy to see the girls' dresses 'in action'! I'm so glad you had a magical time and I had a teeny tiny part in it!

A simply amazing end to a wonderful TR. You have a way of writing about it that makes me feel like part of the magic and I was sad to see it end as Im sure you were. You had so many magical moments and Im so happy Tyler got his wish.

Your report was so awesome, hon. I looooove the picture at Crystal Palace when Hayley is looking up at Tigger as he visits your table..she just looks like she's in love! How cool of the Cafe Manager to set up the special presents for the kids. Tyler is sooo cute with the giant stitch! I was hoping as I was looking at the pics that you were able to get it for him. Thank you so much for sharing your trip with us. :lovestruc

The girls loved their dresses. Hayley really liked showing off the Tigger and Pooh on hers to the characters. You made wonderful magic for the girls. Thank you again! pooh: :tigger:

Thank you for the compliments! It was sad to actually finish the report, but I am happy that I could share it with so many new friends too! Tyler loves to look at the pictures from his trip. As soon as I get the photopass CD, I am going to make him a Stitch collage for his room. I purchased a multi-picture insert frame from Michaels when they were on sale before Christmas for about $4 after all of the discounts. It was normally $20! It will look great in his room!

Thank you! I do love that expression on Hayley's face! The manager at All Star Sports went above and beyond to make the ending to our trip so magical. He does love his giant Stitch. I loved sharing our trip with everyone. I can't wait to read about Piper's trip. It will be here before you know it! :woohoo:

Ok.

The magic...just got me.

I am sitting here in tears.

And I am so sad this TR is over. :( Well...ALMOST over...gotta see those PhotoPass pics! :goodvibes

Congratulations!!!! Although I can imagine that it's a bittersweet ending.

2 quick questions: they are relocating/replacing ToonTown????? When and with what? We will likely be there twice in 2010.......best go get our fill, huh???

and were you able to take the balloons on the airplane? Matty was begging for one the last night we were there but we didn't think he would be able to bring it on the plane the next day. Just curious for future reference.

Again, really great job. I so enjoyed all the px and am amazed at all the magic your trip brought to Tyler and your family. I'll be anxiously awaiting the photopass px!!

awe, love all the magic you guys were able to experience! Well deserved! I keep telling my sis to submit my nephew for a wish! He would be such a wonderful candidate! He just spent almost a full week here with us for X-mas, and he such a cutie pie! It's amazing to see how much he can do despite his disabilities! God bless your son <3

I've loved every minute of your TR, so magical. I'm so touched by the CMs at the restaurant giving the children the toys, treats & balloons. I have to admit that I, too had a tear in my eye. Such beautiful children, also loved the Pooh dresses. :cheer2:

What a wonderful trip and trip report!!! Im so happy you had some magical moments. We are at the beginning of trip planning for my 12 year old nephew - hope his trip is magical too!!!

So :sad1: to see the end of your trip report but so happy to read about Tyler getting the Stitch he's been wanting to get! :stitch: It's almost as big as he is! :rotfl: That was very nice of the manager to give each of the children a stuff toy, balloons and treats and the Disney store at the airport give the Stitch pins to Tyler. I can't believe all the magical moments your family experienced on your trip!

How is Tyler doing with his casts? I hope they will only be on for a little while longer and that this will be the last time he'll need them.

Can't wait to see the photopass pictures sometime soon! Thanks for sharing your family's trip with us here on the Disboard!

Wow, the Disney magic followed you everywhere! I'm sad it's over, but happy to know we'll get one last smile from the photopass. It's the gift that keeps on giving. ;)

Wow! I logged on today and there are lots of posts to reply too! I am so glad you all enjoyed sharing our trip with us! :wizard:

I am right there with you. My eyes were welling up with tears and I was not even sure they were heading to my kids, but something told me that they were! It sure brightened up a gloomy day! :cheer2:

As far as I can tell construction starts some time in 2010 and will be done in 2012. It looks like all of Toon Town except for Goofy's Barnstorm will be removed and the coaster will be re-themed. Here is a link about it: http://thedisneyblog.com/2009/09/12/d23-confirms-fantasyland-expansion-rumors/

I am not sure if you can take balloons on a plane. We were going to give them to kids in the food court, but then we ran out of time and almost missed the bus. We gave them to the Magic Express bus driver and he promised to give them to some kids who were arriving and just starting their trips. I hope he really did!

Again, really great job. I so enjoyed all the px and am amazed at all the magic your trip brought to Tyler and your family. I'll be anxiously awaiting the photopass px!!

I can't wait to see the Photopass photos too! It is so hard to see faces when you are editing them and they are so tiny. It took me a month and I still was not done, but gave up and ordered the disk. I kept having the program time out and take forever to load between each photo. I know it will be worth it when the CD arrives. I will have plenty of more photos to share!

Thank you! My children were blessed with lots of magic and pixie dust! I hope your sister applies for a Wish for your nephew. Any kid that has to endure many doctors and procedures instead of just getting to be a kid deserves to have a Wish granted! :wizard:

Thank you! The surprise in the food court was so unexpected and so sweet! Thank you! The Pooh dresses were from the Big Give from NiniMorris. She did an amazing job on them!

What a wonderful trip and trip report!!! Im so happy you had some magical moments. We are at the beginning of trip planning for my 12 year old nephew - hope his trip is magical too!!!

Thank you! You will have a magical time with your nephew. Just take a few extra minutes to chat with the cast members and say thank you or compliment them and it goes a long way. They experience a lot of rudeness during the day so when someone is kind, it makes an impression on them! He will have a fabulous time! :wizard:

He loves that Stitch! :stitch:

How is Tyler doing with his casts? I hope they will only be on for a little while longer and that this will be the last time he'll need them.

The current sets stays on until January 7th. Then unfortunately he has to go under again to get a new set on. The hope is that the new set will be able to just go from his knees down. Tyler gets around with his current casts. He is a little rough on them as I keep finding blue pieces of casts in my carpet. I think we will have to go in again soon to have them reinforced again! He walks in them and climbs as if they were part of his legs all along. He never complains. He is a little angel!

Can't wait to see the photopass pictures sometime soon! Thanks for sharing your family's trip with us here on the Disboard!

As soon as the Photopass photos arrive, I will start uploading them! I did not get the disk ordered until the 25th of December with all of the editing so hopefully it doesn't take too long! :stitch2:

Disney Magic was abundant on our trip. Each time I though nothing else could possibly happen, something else did happen. It was truly a magic trip for a wonderful little boy! I am so excited and cannot wait to see the photopass photos! Thank you for reading along and sharing in Tyler's Wish! :grouphug:

I loved reading about your trip. How amazing! What a magical trip! I too can't wait for the photopass pics. I bet there great!

The photopass CD is here! However, I cannot tell which picture was saved as which size. If anyone can help with this I would appreciate it. The 4x6s look just like the 5x7s.

Prior to adding the photopass photos I have a medical update on Tyler. We spent 6 hours at the hospital yesterday and he was sedated again to have his casts changed. The first set worked awesome! So, now he has cute little casts! Then these will come off on January 25th and he will go back to his leg braces. Right now he is in pain when walking since his knees could not move for 3 weeks, but the doctor said that he should be better in a few days.

Here is a picture of Tyler pushing his sister around with the full casts on.

Here he is waiting to go to sedation at the hospital.

Here he is after his new casts. They gave him a little too much sedation medication and he did not wake up too easily this time!

I will try to get the first sets of photopass phphotos up this afternoon after I pick Bre up from school.

poor boy :( may I ask what the casts are for? My nephew has recently gotten leg braces and the talk of casts has been brought p. I'm not exactly sure why, but I'm curious to see if it o for the same problem as your son. Such troopers they are:lovestruc

Aww! Tyler is such a trooper. Hope his legs are feeling better soon. I cant wait to see the photopass pics!

aw, poor Tyler! I hope his knees loosen up soon and don't hurt him any more. His new casts look just like snowboots, without toes of course!

I can't wait to see the photopass pictures! I don't know how to differentiate between the 4X6 and 5X7s. I think I just did all mine in 4X6 because I didn't realize there was a difference.

It is for his club feet. When he was born the doctor said that he had the most severe case she had ever seen. We did physical therapy twice a week until he was 3. We did casts from when he was 3 weeks old until 12 weeks when he had a tendon releasing surgery. Otherwise he feet would look like a ballerina's in point shoes. Then we did another month of casts. Then we did braces full time with a bar between them to keep his feet turned out. Then we did just night time braces. At one point we were down to braces every other night. Then he started 3 year old preschool and the school was responsible for his physical therapy and they did not do any from Aug. - Feb. last year. That is when his feet started to turn back in. We tried braces with a bar between, but he would not tolerate it and it led to many sleepless nights for everyone. Then we went back to regular night time braces, but he was tripping when he walked. The doctor explained that his bones in his feet and legs grew, but the muscles and tendons did not. The casts would force the feet to turn out and the muscles and tendons to stretch. Initially we thought we would have to do three sets of casts, but the first set worked so well, we only have to do two. Then he will go back to braces at night. His 4 year old preschool this year is very pro-active in physical therapy, which is also helping. He goes to a public school, but since he is special needs, the school provides his speech and physical therapy. He is an amazing little guy. The full leg casts did not slow him down one bit! :woohoo:

The photos are coming! Tyler is amazing. He just takes it all in stride and never complains!

He likes showing off his new casts. We will get them covered in signatures as soon as it makes it above freezing with the wind chill. Breanna's classmates want to sign them as well as his classmates.

The photopass photos default to a 5x7 size. I learned this the hard way with my Sept. ones. Then when you try to print them in a 4x6 size it cuts off the borders even though it looks just fine in preview windows. So, this time I saved each photo as a 4x6, 5x7 and 8x10, but there is no way to differentiate which is which on the disk. I guess I will email the photopass people again!

There are four disks of Photopass photos. Here are pictures from the first disk. They will cover the next three posts and are in random order.

The first few are from Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
